What type of service, are you doing seeding, turf work, are you going to do fertilizer. Do you have equpment to test the PH of the soil, are you doing mowing , how big of area, do you have a trailer to haul eveyrthing.

So all you willl need is a mower ( size to fit the size of yards you are doing)
My ex brother in law, used to mow yards and he basically pulled his push lawmower around with his bike and did peoples yards ( he was in his 30s)
Nor most will have a truck or truck and trailer with mower and or mowers, trimmers and edgers.

You may also want a website that is optimized to your local market to give you natural search rank for your geo target of your business. You can also run local ppc ads on Google, Yahoo and Superpages, etc... You can hand out flyers and post classifieds in your local area small papers. Craigslist is another great resource to find and post your projects. If you want to target other businesses you can drop off proposals with a business card and maybe a sign-up special such as - Sign up for 3 months of our service and receive your first 2 weeks free.
I am happy to answer more marketing solutions for your new business. Please feel free to email me.

One thing that's really great about Ask Me Help Desk, is when people answer questions on the threads and not answer in private messages or emails, so that other folks can benefit by the answers that have been given. Answering questions on the threads themselves is something that is really encouraged on this site.
