    Neglect
When my daughter was 6 months her dad babysat her, while I went to school. At that time he wasn't stable no car or home he would ask to watch her from time to time at first it was supervised until I started to trust him alone with her in my apartment, but not to leave. He even slept over for weeks at the time so when I was ready to leave he told me he wanted to use someone car at 11am there was only one key and I was taking it because I didn't trust him to take her.. to cut it short while I was gone he left her in the apartment by herself to go get money from downstairs when it happened I left school came straight home and told him he had to leave and took my daughter to her babysitter I didn't call the cops so all I have is text messages will that be enough prove in court or could I go report it.

What is your daughters age now? I think that if you pursue it now it will just look like an allegation out of spite or to try and fight him for rights. I don't see it going anywhere in your favor to report it now.

She is 8 month now, but if I already reported it will it in any way help me in court because I told him that I don't trust him to take her because of that reason but he can come and visit her at my house supervised and all he does is text me putting me down pretty much verbal abuse

Prove what? When did this happen? How long did he leave her? How did you find out what he did? What exactly do you want to happen?

Edited: I see this happened about 2 months ago. Are you involved in a custody case now?

It happened in April I was at school so I don't know how long he left her for all I know is that while he was downstairs he decided to smoke so apparently he wasn't in a hurry because my landlord was trying to lock him out I didn't report the incident at that time n I just reported it today will that help me in court n I also have text messages of verbal abuse. He's upset at the fact that I want him to be supervised now because of that situation

We are going to child support court in aug I get support from the county so the county attorneys office will be there they said they won't talk about vistation/ custody because they only deal with child support but someone said the judge will talk about it a little but what I learned is that if he wants visitation he has to take it to court himself. My other problem is that I reserved his visitation rights but I want it to be supervised visitation if we go to court for visitation could I change it and tell the judge I want it supervised?

So, is he the legal father? Are there currently any court orders for visitation or custody?

If there are no court orders now, then you have equal rights but you are in control. If he wants visitation, then he has to go to court for it. I doubt if this one instance will be enough to for a court to order supervised visitation however.

The time to report it was when it happened, and now it will just seem like angry ex, trying to make trouble for father.

Also while not a good parenting method, if he just ran down stairs for a few minutes, I doubt if any agency will even consider this neglect

It may seem like I'm angry by reporting it now but at that time calling the cops didn't run to my mind n I thought I could handle it myself but he doesn't get that it was a big safety issue n since I'm going to Court in aug n will eventually go back for parenting time I figured it should be documented for future actions.

We haven't gone to court for anything yet so through DNA he is her father but legally he's not but we are going to court in August for child support. Will I have any luck bringing that story n the verbal abuse through text against him will that help me in any way?

If the DNA wasn't court ordered, its probably inadmissible. And the incident nor the texts will have no bearing on a child support issue. They will only come into play in a custody/visitation hearing. And even then I doubt if it will have much affect.

    " I didn't report the incident at that time n I ..."

For starters, please use full words. It's and, not "n." I find it difficult to take you seriously when you cannot take the time to use full words.

So the neglect at the time didn't concern you. You became concerned when support became an issue? I don't think the Judge is going to pay any attention to the neglect/abuse. I am also not sure of the circumstances, how long she was alone, where he went and for how long.

It was a concern for me at that point I stopped letting him watch her alone. I told him that if he wanted to see her he's ganna have to come when I'm off meaning it's a supervised visit and he has a problem with it that's where the verbal abuse and text messages are coming in. He left her on my bed to go outdide n get money he also took time to smoke so to me I don't think it took him 2 seconds and also my landlord was trying to lock him out. Me reporting it now is to show him that safety is a big issue because he's not understanding the fact

What State is this happening in? I know of no state that will allow you to prefile child support. There has to be a child in the picture inorder to file a support claim.

When you were pregnant, did they accept your filing or did they file it and tell you to let them know after you gave birth?

Was the DNA test done through the court or privately?

They took it and told me that When the baby is born then they will start the process. As for DNA the county did it for free because I'm on assistance so he has to reimburse them.
