    Kitchen remodel
I remodeled my kitchen I bought a new light fixture for it in the ceiling there is a black, white and red all hooked together with a wire nut. Then there is a black, a white and a green up there as well. At the Switch there is only black and white the light comes on but you cannot turn it on or off with the switch. Also now the light under the cabinet by my sink and the outlet is also not working. Any help given would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

What controls the light under the cabinet?
Is the outlet a GFI outlet or on a GFI circuit?

The light is controlled with a light switch and the outlet is in fact on a GFI circuit.

Switch there is only black and white
Assuming that the black and white are connected to the switch.

The light is controlled with a light switch
Assuming that you mean another switch, not the one that controls the ceiling light.

black, white and red all hooked together
Assuming that these were connected that way before you started.

In the ceiling you should have a black wire that is in the same cable as the white wire that is connected to that bundle. You should have a white wire that is in the 3-wire cable with the black and red.

You should have a black and a white wire left. Connect the white of the light fixture to the white and connect the black of the light fixture to the black wire.

Press the reset button on the outlet.

If the wires were not connect as described before you started, or things don't work as they are suppose to, post back.
