    Basement wiring.
Hi, my question is. I have 14 lights in my basement. And I am not sure on receptacles, Lots. But I am curious If your lights in your bedroom, bathroom, and or family room have to be on the same circuit as the receptacle. In the same room. I Know The limit to receptacles is 12 per circuit, That probably is the same to lights too ( I'm guessing ) But is it okay to have all my lights wired on there own breaker and the receptacles on there own separate breaker? Or do I have to tie them in together in the same room?

Also what about My Bathroom does it have to be on its own breaker all together?

    Thanks for your help. :)

Lighting on a circuit is not a bad idea, if a circuit trips, you still have lights, I like to put each room on own circuit.
A 20 Amp circuit can handle 2400 Watts(120v X 20 = 2400)Derated to 80% for 3 hours of more equals 1920 watts(2400X.80) to work with. If you take 1920 and divide by 60(watt bulbs) it will tell you the amount of bulbs you can place on that circuit. If 15 Amp circuit, multiply 15 X 120 will tell the capacity, then multiply X .8(80%) to find the wattage available for the number of bulbs.
You Don't have to have lighting and recepticles on same circuit.
