I am not good with pain. Any kind of pain leads to anxiety attacks for me, which leads to asthma attacks

Because of this, when I had my daughter is 2010, I was given both Nubain and an epidural; which I was allowed to use even during pushing. I was also given Zoloft to counteract anxiety.

I would like to have another child, however I am afraid because my cousin just had a baby and she was not allowed any pain meds or a C section because of medical issues. What would a obgyn or midwife do in my case if medical reasons wouldn't allow me to have pain meds or a c section?

You would have to deal with the pain, if there was a medical reason, you could not take the pain medication.

You would or should prepare by taking birthing classes, and understanding, it is a normal and natural process

But there is a medical reason I can't deal with pain. It makes me have an anxiety attack, which leads to an asthma attack. Anxiety is a medical condition, as is asthma. Childbirth classes wouldn't work for me. I guess what I am asking is if there are alternative medications that would work in case for whatever reason I couldn't have Nubain and an epidural.

Yes, there are alternative medications. I use Stadol combined with phenergan on my laboring patients. I prefer that to Nubain. With that said it can only be given prior to the epidural. It should not be given once you have an epidural. It also should not be used once a patient is 8 or more centimeters as it suppresses the baby's respiratory drive and increases the risk of having to resuscitate the baby.
