First offense under 5000
I was arrest at a food basics store on Sunday sept 25 th. I pay for about $123 of groceries, and I have another bag with about $200 of products. I did not pay that one, a stupid mistake. The security guy caught me at the door. They took everything, and they the police. I have to go for fingers print and to the court at the end of October. It was the first time. Does any one knows if the judge always finds all first offender guilty? It there a chance that I will not be convicted? I am a nurse student. It that possible tbo be suspended from school? Thanks

Yes its possible you will be suspended from school (depends on their policies on this topic)... you were caught.. you will in all likelihood be convicted the real question is will you go to jail.(not likely) .but that might still cause problems in the medical field. Though not as much as a felony would have.

I did not have the intention to steal. It was a sale day, there was a lot of people, I was tired to wait for long to pay. I just forgot to pay. I knew my mistake when the security talk to me at the door, I told him I can pay immediately, he said it wasn't work like that. I am not guilty. I have the money to pay.

Nobody intended to to it AFTER they get caught... the fact is you did it and got caught. Plead you case in front of the Judge... doubt it gets you very far, but its your right to try. Fact is they've heard that thousands of times... maybe it was true sometimes... maybe it wasn't.
Its pretty hard to walk out of a store without paying... I'm 50, and haven't forgotten once.

It may be true, I don't believe it, and the court will not either, you accidentally put a pack of gum in your pocket, you don't walk out with 200 dollars of food in a bag and pay for another one for a lot less. So trying to tell a judge it was a accident is a waste of time. In fact it will most likely hurt case, The judge wants to see you sorry for the crime, not sorry you got caught.
The judge does not find everyone guilty, he finds the guilty people guilty. It appears there is enough evidence to convict you of the crime.
Depending on where you are at, most areas have a first offender program, where you will pay fines, ( and there will be several, normall a civil penalty to store, fine to court, and court costs) Expect to pay 1000 or more total.
There would be probation. Normally after you do all of that, they dismiss the charges or seal the records.
Yes this can hurt your college depending on their rules.
