    Dog scratching floor new house?
Moved into a new house - west highland white terrier is obsessed with the hardwood floor in one room only and constantly licks and scratches it in a couple of places only? Help!

I would spray something on the areas to deter her, you can try a few different things, pet stores sell products called bitter sprays that most dogs hate, they are made specifically to stop dogs chewing or licking furniture. Just check the back of the bottle to make sure you get one that is safe to use on hardwood floors.

I have a dog here who was obsessed with licking the leather couch when we bought it (we previously had fabric couches) and bitter sprays worked for him.

I would also wash the floors with a mixture of tea tree oil, just a few drops will do, and vinegar water solution. If there was another animal kept there (I'm thinking bunny or gerbil... etc... ) this will clean the smell and deter her from wanting to scratch there.
