I added lights and outlets to my basement and all of the outlets work fine. Before I started the switch on the wall controlled one light and all of the others had pull strings. I've tried everything but the switch will not turn off the remaining three lights. What did I do wrong... how do I fix it?...

I have a ceiling fan with a light fixture in my bedroom and they are connected to the light switch on the wall, but also have the pull switches. About 2:30 in the morning the ceiling fan just stopped working, but the light fixture still works.

I am trying to add 3 pendant lights to the same switch as a light in the room. The power source runs to the light first, then to the switch. I tapped into the wire from the switch to the light.
