Ceiling fan quit working but lite fixtures still works
I have a ceiling fan with a light fixture in my bedroom and they are connected to the light switch on the wall, but also have the pull switches. About 2:30 in the morning the ceiling fan just stopped working, but the light fixture still works.

    Seger,

My first bet through experience, is the pull switch on your fan. These are inexpensive switches that commonly go bad. The second choice would be the directional switch that determines the rotation of the motor. The up position is usually for winter use and of course the down position for summer. Sometimes you can clean the contacts of this slider switch with rubbing alcohol or contact cleaner. Next, check the fan hot wire (usually labled) connection where it connects into a wire nut. The last choice would be the motor itself. Be sure and turn off the wall switch, or the circuit breaker to be sure no power is coming to the fan/light.

Actually the pullswitches almost NEVER go bad, unless they are pulled out.

    What make/model is the fan?
