Odd things tend to happen here...

Abnormality is the normality at this locality!!

Jul 8, 2007, 05:11 AM
Speaking of remotes, I need to find my stereo remote now... I've got it as the sound for my TV in my new setup, and can't adjust it from the couch. As a card carrying lazy guy, I find myself throwing things at it to change the volume when needed.

curlybenswife
Jul 8, 2007, 05:28 AM
LOL now that's just lazy have you tried doing a bit of cleaning its quite surprising what you find you know :D

Nosnosna
Jul 8, 2007, 05:44 AM
I think it may be gone forever... I haven't seen it in years.

I may take the extra-lazy way out, and just get longer cabling so I can have the main unit for it over here by the couch, so I can just reach down and twist the knob... I've already decided that I'm going to do that with the Playstation anyway, so that I can change games without unassing the couch :)

curlybenswife
Jul 8, 2007, 06:10 AM
Oh my word you are such a typical lad lol

Nosnosna
Jul 8, 2007, 06:24 AM
The beer bottles, coke cans, and fast-food wrappers all over the room say otherwi... Oh. Never mind.

tkrussell
Jul 8, 2007, 06:26 AM
I thought that was what having kids for, when the remote is lost, or out of reach?

It was great when my twins were young, now just because they are almost 30, they just look at me when I ask to change the channel.

They seem to forget when mom went out and left me to babysit, they ended up babysitting me as I dozed. I had hell to pay when mom got home, what with all the soda and cookies all spilled about, and ruined appetites, or missed bedtimes.

curlybenswife
Jul 8, 2007, 06:27 AM
Hehehehehehehe hope its full fat coke and none of this diet crap

Nosnosna
Jul 8, 2007, 06:29 AM

Oh Laura, if they could have it done by Friday, that would be awesome. So, that's only a couple of days not being able to cook right? I know you enjoy it, but it will be worth it in the end :)

Oh Laura, sending many hugs and will be thinking about you this week. Hope it goes by like a flash.

Millie probably will get a kick out of the "adventure" of coming up with different meals to eat. She's probably going to be in her glory with all the commotion.

Is she still derobing herself? LOL :). What a cutie.

curlybenswife

Allheart
Jul 8, 2007, 03:19 PM
LOL too funny. Put it too music :).

Well, I sure hope it all goes smooth for you guys. I am sure it will. But Laura that picture looks awesome. Nothing like having a great kitchen. Mine is like a shoe box. But I'm grateful for it. I just recently got a new oven. A couple of months ago. It's been fun to make a cake and have it actually come out. The old one baked the outside but not the inside... ick yuck and double double ick.

I can't wait for it all to be done for you.

alkalineangel

Oh, I missed out on Allheart, well hello if you can see me waving. You are all just too funny, Al, how is that finger? CBW, hope they get it all done soon, through this whole time I have known you, they have been working on it all. Sheesh, it sure will be great when it is complete! J, I was so busy, I got up from my chair and never looked back. Just a great outside weekend, Dustin made me go on a boat, put my feet in the shark infested RIVER, sleep at his moms in the trailer, get drunk, he made me do it all and it was great! Hope you all had a nice weekend!!

Guess it's hit and miss time for me... Hi all... check back in soon. Kids got the snuffles. Trying to get the house stuff done. Love the kitchen cbw, and finally hugs to everyone I didn't mention and cbw too.

startover22
Jul 8, 2007, 11:30 PM
Yes Myth, the snuffles are here too. Not slowing the boys down a bit though, so they are busy and cranky. Ha, hope it is all going well for you! Night, start

J_9
Jul 9, 2007, 02:47 AM
Well, folks I couldn't sleep. All is quiet in the house, so I thought I would check in here. Don't know how much I'll be on today. Rae is back at swim team this week (they had their 4th of July vacation last week), and I will be taking Johnny to the doctors. Looks like he has a brown recluse spider bite on his little tushy. Talk to you all later.

Scariest thing ever:

Condoms on the clearance aisle.

I mean... I was tempted to snag them, cause they were marked down from $9 a box to $1 a box. And then I got to thinking... is this really a situation in which finding a bargain is a good idea? In the end, at least in most things, we get what we pay for, but in this case, the concern is more on paying for what we get.

The decision was made for me when I noticed they were one of the 'for her pleasure' varieties, and, well, um... Yeah, I fail to see how that's MY concern ;)

J_9
Jul 9, 2007, 05:03 AM
LMAO!!

You are a nut Nos...

Nosnosna
Jul 9, 2007, 05:15 AM
I'm just coming out of my shell.

Tuscany
Jul 9, 2007, 05:17 AM
Morning all.

Wow a new location already, we are such a chatty bunch.

How was everyone's weekend?

J_9
Jul 9, 2007, 05:21 AM
Nos, you never had a shell...

My weekend was usual, well except for the spider bite that needs to be seen today.

Tuscany
Jul 9, 2007, 05:24 AM
Ohhh J9 that is not good. I hate those things.

I went to the IRL race at Watkins Glen this weekend, and I remembered my sunscreen. But boy do I look significantly tanner now. That nice summer glow.

How is little J doing today?

Nosnosna
Jul 9, 2007, 05:24 AM
It was a nut pun... you know, I'm a nut, nuts come in shells...

Bah! I'm going to take my ball and go home!

J_9
Jul 9, 2007, 05:27 AM
Play nice Nos. Just picking on you. How about a glass of wine?

Little J is laying on the couch right now. He has to lay on his tummy cause the bite hurts his booty!

Nosnosna
Jul 9, 2007, 05:30 AM
Don't mind if I do have a refill :)

Ouchies... it's amazing how much we use our butts, really, when you think about it.

Tuscany
Jul 9, 2007, 05:33 AM
A booty bite. That sucks. I hope that he has not been dealing with it all weekend.

J_9
Jul 9, 2007, 05:34 AM
Red or white Nos?

Yeah, our butts are busier than we thought huh?

Nosnosna
Jul 9, 2007, 05:35 AM
Red, almost always. I only go for the white when I want something sweet, and I'm really not much of one for sweets, all things considered.

Yep... mine keeps its own appointment book, because there wasn't enough room in mine for it to share.

J_9
Jul 9, 2007, 05:36 AM
But we are sweet and you like us. LMAO, yeah right!!

Well off to deliver the girls to swim team practice. BBL

Tuscany
Jul 9, 2007, 05:42 AM
See you later J

J_9
Jul 9, 2007, 06:19 AM
Dang no doctor's appointments, guess I'll have to do the walk in thing. Oh how I hate that.

Nosnosna
Jul 9, 2007, 06:21 AM
Ugh... there goes your whole day, really.

J_9
Jul 9, 2007, 06:25 AM
Yeah, possibly. Good thing a couple of docs in the practice are friends of mine, usually when they see me there we get right in. :D

You are such a nut ball, Nos, it is time we find you a good woman. No more hookers, k? You are killing me...

Nosnosna
Jul 9, 2007, 09:02 AM
Hey, I've never paid for it!

Well, not in the hooker sense. Like all guys, I've paid for it in the 'buying dinner' and 'emotional blackmail' senses, of course :)

If you find me a good woman, don't ship her COD, please. That's just poor taste.

startover22
Jul 9, 2007, 09:10 AM
I don't know anyone in Tenn, so I might have to. Goodness, a dollar for a box of condoms would be really tempting. I feel like I need two pots of coffee instead of 1 and a half. Hmmm long week end I suppose. Good morning MONDAY!

Myth
Jul 9, 2007, 09:13 AM
I am sooo tired... You don't know anyone in tenn start?

So what is everyone wishing they were still doing from the weekend... keep it clean now... This is not a champagne room

Did I ever mention that the teletubbies annoy the he! Out of me..

startover22
Jul 9, 2007, 09:18 AM
My mother lived there, but now she is in Nebraska, I don't really know her well...
I wish I was still hanging out with my husband, I want to make sure he knows I love him. That was dirty, but you would never know it, huh? Teletubbies are useless unless your kid stares at them for an hour. LOL

curlybenswife
Jul 9, 2007, 09:20 AM
Yeesh what a day and another 4 to go lol hope your all well I will try and sit down properly later on tonight.

J_9
Jul 9, 2007, 09:22 AM
Well, back from the doc. Only took an hour 45. Good news is that it is not a brown recluse bite... Bad news it is a Pilonidal Cyst.

curlybenswife
Jul 9, 2007, 09:23 AM
What's going on J?

startover22
Jul 9, 2007, 09:24 AM
What does that mean, who got bit? What?

Nosnosna
Jul 9, 2007, 09:27 AM
For once I wasn't the one being bitten on the rump.

...

...

Trouble is, that's a BAD thing...

startover22
Jul 9, 2007, 09:28 AM
I am buying a mean dog today and sending him there to get you...

J_9
Jul 9, 2007, 09:28 AM
We thought Johnny got bit between the little booty cheeks by a brown recluse spider. He had a rash about the size of a quarter there on Saturday, then last night it had what looked like a little whitehead, he bathed and I "drained" it. This morning it was HUGE and very painful.

So, like the Mom I am, instead of asking here, cause I would probably only answer myself, I took him to the doc.

Is it bad Nos? I never heard of it till today. Doc said he may need surgery if it comes back. She is sending the "stuff" to the lab to be cultured for Staph.

curlybenswife
Jul 9, 2007, 09:30 AM
Oh my goodness the poor thing :( how yucky

startover22
Jul 9, 2007, 09:32 AM
Oh goodness, poor sweety. Sorry little one. You give him a soft hug for me. Lucky for him, he doesn't get any whoopins for a while, huh? LOL

Nosnosna
Jul 9, 2007, 09:34 AM
Oh, I simply meant that it's a bad thing that the biting of the rump didn't involve me.

That kind of cyst can be anything from a one-time minor annoyance to a long-term recurring pain in the rear.

On a related note, my niece had a Staph infection last month... nasty stuff, that. She's fine now, but the wound (which we have no idea where it came from) looked like a bullet hole after it was cleaned up.

J_9
Jul 9, 2007, 09:38 AM
Oh yeah, that staph can be bad stuff. The doc gave him antibiotics just in case the lab results come back positive.

I had a staph infection in my thumb a few years ago. Was hospitalized for a week!

Nosnosna
Jul 9, 2007, 09:40 AM
We're lucky on that... she's got an aunt who's a CNA, so she was able to stay at home under the aunt's supervision. Much cheaper that way than to stay in the hospital :)

startover22
Jul 9, 2007, 09:48 AM
Oh, man that is crazy. My husband has lymphodema in his leg and they are always saying check for any sores and clean them constantly until they are gone.

Myth
Jul 9, 2007, 10:04 AM
I hate those J. I had one that got up to the size of a softball I finally had to have it lanced open and then surgery to have it completely removed... It hurts a lot. I really feel for him... the poor thing.

curlybenswife
Jul 9, 2007, 10:25 AM
MMMMMM my mate matt has one right on the bottom of his spine above his bum cheeks and that comes back lots but his has a lot to do with the fact he is obease.

Jul 9, 2007, 11:41 AM
Well, just keep thinking about the end product. It will look absolutely gorgeous in the end. I bet it feels really big and eery right now, huh.

Feeling much better thank you, although still irritated as all get out... im beginning to think this will just be my tempermant for the next several months... lol otherwise I'm good, although the finger is hurting more. Im worried it may be infected... I went to the doctor and they steerilized it and put liquid stitch stuff on it, but it still really hurts... of course its my finger tip down to my second joint, so it could just be that too... never knew I used the finger that much.

Myth
Jul 9, 2007, 12:14 PM
We never know what we use till it hurts... lol. I hope everyone is feeling OK today. Now my hubby is getting the snuffles... big baby. I hope I don't get it. I can't afford to be sick right now... or ever. I guess it's a mom thing. Well our loan for the house is in the final stages of being processed. Cross your fingers all. If this is the worst to come with the house then I'll be happy...

I wouldn't like that... We got the flu shot through hubbies work last year. Amazingly work paid for it, the tetanus booster, a b12 and the pneumonia shot. Not just for him but for me as well... lol. I figured why not. The kids were too small for the shots so they didn't get them. His boss was hospitalized with the flu early last year and didn't want to get it again... lol. So he had everyone get shots... hehehe.

Oh J , I hope little J is feeling better. Such a sin, the poot little guy. Adding him to my prayers.

Hi everyone hope the day was good to you all. Laura... hang in there girl it will be worth it.

Oh Myth how I feel for you... hubby & sniffles... oh me oh my. Unless he is a good patient, mine calls it a "man's cold" . See a Man's cold is far worse because men are stronger and so for it to effect a man, then the cold is that much stronger... yup that's what I live with :).

Alk - I hope your finger gets better. How did you hurt it... (sorry I am behind)

Oh and to my Start girl... I just love you honey. You are my sunshine.

Hope I didn't forget anyone, but I love you all :)

Hey Allheart, I am going to get started on my sign with YOUR signature on it this weekend. I have the saying hung up on my fridge and my kids like it too. I told them where I heard it and they rolled their eyes. LOL they love it when I am on the computer and not paying much attention to them. I am going to go out and empty our little pool and fill it back up again. Hope you are GREAT Allheart, I sure am glad to see you around here again. Hugs and kisses, Start.

Allheart-

I love the term man cold. How is it that women can keep right on plugging along with their day no matter how bad the cold. But, many men need their mommies, or at least be waited on hand and foot.

Hey Myth- Hang in there... I hear Benadryol really knocks them out... that is if you need some peace and quiet :)

Synnen
Jul 9, 2007, 09:06 PM
Well, I *am* PMSing, but after 3 days in the sun and on the lake with nothing to really do... I'm feeling GREAT! I read 2 romances, got a $300 Ralph Lauren jacket for 25 cents, lost $60 at the casino, and managed to not crave a smoke until I got back to town! Yay for me!

The only thing that's killing me now is that I wore the bikini out on the lake. I am LOBSTER red on my shoulders, hips, chest, arms, belly and back. My legs, however, are still cookie dough white. Don't ask me how THAT works.

Even slathering on SPF 45 every 20 minutes didn't stop me from burning, though. I can't find a comfy way to lay right now at ALL!

startover22
Jul 9, 2007, 09:10 PM
Good job on the jacket, good job on wearing the bikini, and good job on the smokes! My legs have a hard time getting the same color as the rest of my body too! 60 bucks on the casino? I lost 60 at the video poker machines the other night! So that is OK!Put your lotion in the fridge and slather it on every 30 minutes till you can get some dang rest!

Synnen
Jul 9, 2007, 09:16 PM
I've got my sleep schedule all switched again, so it will be another hour or so before I can zonk out. I'll take a melatonin then, and sleep like a baby.

I'm ready to go beat the kids in the park across the street, though! 11 PM on a work night, and they're over there screamin and yelling like it's noon on a Saturday! I should just call the damned cops on them, is what I should do!

startover22
Jul 9, 2007, 09:20 PM
Go ahead but you will have to wait for them to show up and then you will never get to bed. I would just tell them to shush up or you will kick their a--es all the way home... How is that?

NIGHTY NIGHT! I am heading out.

Ok may sound like icky and stuff but if you use some vinegar in the bath it will take the heat out of your burn...

Synnen
Jul 9, 2007, 09:33 PM
Actually... I thought that sounded weird, Myth, but my mom-in-law did that on Saturday when I was crying it hurt so bad, and it really helped!

I don't have any vinegar in the house right now, but I do have aloe, and that seems to be helping.

Start... they FINALLY left! Hooray!

Jul 9, 2007, 09:52 PM
It works wonders... I honestly used heat on my sunburns... like a hot shower and that seemed to help me... There is also a product called resonal you can get from walgreens or walmart that works wonders on stuff like that. Im all right Al thanks for asking hunn, we are having a quiet day it was nice the pasterer came and finished off the walls this morning so they needed the rest of the day and night to dry then the kitchen fitter will be here in the morning.
Ill post the start to finish pictures when they are done :D My landlord did give me 50 pounds (100 dollars) today for us to take ourselves out and eat over the next few days so this afternoon we went to the carvery and had roast it was yummy and it was only 15 pounds for the three of us we haven't decided where to go for tomorrow.

I love all you can eat pizza places.

IM feeling good today, but I can't stop eating. I think the food cravings finally hit me... it happened earlier wth the last, but took its time this time around. I had to go out and get fresh cucumber, zucchini, and salad last night. I just needed it. I want nothing to do with meat what-so-ever. Thomas made steak last night, and I was hardly interested... lol..

But Pizza does sound good..

IM glad things are quiet today for you. It was very nice of your landlord to offer you money to eat out. You must have a real gem there. Our old landlord never even wanted to change the air filters. I can't wait to see before and after shots!
