This is my favorite saying in the whole world. What is yours and why and when did it hit you and what kind of situations have brought you to that conclusion? Who made you who you are? Who or what brings the best and worst out of you? How many kids do you have, how many do you not have for whatever reason? Are you married single or on your way to something special? Are you religious or spiritual? Did you brush your teeth today? Clean the toilets? Did you have breakfast today? Love is all around you! THAT IS FOR SURE!

My favorite saying is "There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is not a train"
One of my doctor friends told me this when I finished my first year of nursing school.
My hubby brings our both the best and the worst in me
4 kids
Married twice
Religious and spiritual
Yes I brushed my teeth
My daughter cleans the toilets
Yes I had breakfast (rye toast)

I love this thread you started start.
Okay, This is biblical but I love this golden rule I think we should all live by.
“Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”
I have always been very spiritual and somewhat religious I think there is a big difference between the two. I have been reading the bible on my own since I was 9. I think that God the father, was my only true father and role model growing up.
People who communicate well and love to share their thoughts and feelings bring out the good in me. People who are impatient and angry bring out the worst in me.
I have 2 children.
The first baby was a miscarriage.
Our second, my beautiful baby boy.
Married.
I did not brush my teeth today.
Cleaned the toilet the other day.
Yes, Had breakfast. BLT Sandwich.
I love your saying. Love is all around you. That is what I want for everybody to. Love, to give. Love to receive.

Wow, Joe, love your saying all to well. I say it and try to live by it everyday of my life. When I have more time, I will give you the Start profile, I just have to wait till rest cause as you know I am a stay at home mom with extras! Hugs to you joe, I think you are doing great, except for the teeth thing, I would advise you to brush in the morning so that BLT (my favorite sanwhich exclude the tomato and add avacado) doesn't stick to your teeth...

Thanks to you all for replying, sounds like we are all doing pretty well. I have to say growing up I never took anything in. It is all starting to come together for me and I feel like I need to express it to everyone. There are so many people in my life that has shown the LOVE that is all around me, so hence the Love is all around you theme!
My husband can kick me down and bring me back up! He is and always will be mine! I have learned a lot from my life and that has made me into who I am, my journey changes constantly so I do too. I will always have my "base" but sometimes you have to be in the situation to be able to talk about a situation... I believe in God, I don't have a religion, I am very spiritual and I agree that there is a difference in the two. I get upset because I haven't even gotten past a few words in the bible but I really want to read the whole thing. Just need to get off my butt and get it done. I brush my teeth to often and people that are around me a lot know this as a fact. I scrubbed the toilet on Friday as some of you already know. I had 10 cups of coffee for breakfast and lunch is right around the corner so too late for breakfast. Wish I didn't drink so much coffee and I wish I would eat at least a banana for breakfast. I hope this thread brings out the best for all of us even though we may say the worst through it! Like I love Marlboro Red's although I quit smoking them, I still love them with my new "healthy heart" Have a wonderful time reading about your fellow posters, maybe we can add a few questions in here..? Hugs to you all, Start
EDIT::::::::::
Don't know how I missed it, but I love all four of my children, they are the light of my life...

I think that is a great idea. More people will join in and asking other questions at other times. Great idea.
Yes, I think you brush your teeth way too much. Too much fluoride is not good for you eighter. Hee Hee. Maybe you should quit fluoride.
I will not say how often I brush my teeth but what I will say is that I usually go to the dentist every seven years. NO cavities.
Oh, my 10 cups of coffee for breakfast. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I hope you start eating that banana.
Children are very important. They are so innocent and such a beautiful gift from God.
It sounds like your doing very very well except for the coffee. Hee Hee
I hope this thread brings out the best in everyone too. Lots of hugs.
Joe, Superbaby and Wife.

Some mothers are kissing mothers and some are scolding mothers, but it is love just the same, and most mothers kiss and scold together. ~Pearl S. Buck
Having a wild little two year old made me love this quote. He has his ups and downs, but he knows no matter what I love him and always will.
My mother made me who I am, without her I don't know if I would be the person I am today.
My husband brings out both the best and worst in me.
I have two beautiful baby boys who I love more than anything.
I am married to a wonderful man.
I am not religious, but I hope people don't look down on me for it.
I brushed my teeth today, and the toilets are on today's agenda.
I don't usually eat breakfast, I'm not very hungry in the morning.

Nice to meet you NauticalStar420, nice motto! I love it and understand it all the way through! Another poster gave me a little inspirational saying, "never look down on someone unless you are helping them up!" What do you think about that?? I am jealous of you because it wasn't till I met my husband that I actually became anything or someone for that matter. I wish I would have had someone that meant that much to me when I was growing up! I plan on being there for my children so they can say nice things about me too when they are older! Hugs to you 420, can't wait to hear from you again!

I think you covered enough territory with this thread, this should be safe for a while here. LOL Well. I don't want to come off sounding too cliché. I think the motto that stands out for me is, you can't really love anyone until you love yourself. It became so clear to me after becoming a mom at 24. I didn't think I was really good at anything or that worthy, but when I held my daughter for the first time, she looked at me with complete love and adoration. She was part of me, and it made me see, I can't be all that bad. That is the day I began to love myself again. I lost that somewhere around age 11 or 12 after my parents got divorced and my mom decided to be with another woman. It was so difficult to accept myself as normal at that age anyway and with that, it became really hard. That is when I stopped talking to God for a long time. I grew up a Catholic and became a spiritual warrior in the face of politics and bull@@$@ religion. I respect it, I just don't buy it. I had a son three years later and I had a newfound sense of self respect and worth. I used to want six until I realized two was all I could handle. My husband showed me unconditional love and support also. He is source of strength and stability for me, and he has also helped me to believe in myself and see my potential. I gave up law school so I could stay home with my little man. That was humbling to say the least. After I finally figured out I loved law and had the nerve to go back and get my Bachelors. I actually do well in school this time and I find my calling to be an Appellate attorney. or maybe a Supreme Court Justice. The dreams were big, but my journey as a mother had begun again and I needed to give him the same attention. So the dreams changed again and I took on role of trying to be Super Mom. I wasn't going to miss a thing. ITs great having babies and raising little tots, but ohhh they are so much work. What if I screw them up? What is my biggest downfall? My lack of patience, my anger and inability to deal with selfish and mean people. That is what gets me the most. I love openly and freely and I accept it freely in return, that is what I live by too. I get angry and impatient, but I get over it really quick. I have a big mouth, I say what I feel and I am honest to a fault. Am I on my way to something special? I feel like everyday is special but I still think I am kid trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up! Then I realize, I am and I don't know yet!! My teenage years were turbulent and lonely and they taught me the most. I am still learning about how to deal with change, another toughie for me and how to not be so attached to those I love. I could go on with more but I will give someone else a turn now...

Hello start,
Life is so precious and so delecate that is why it is best to treat everybody right. What goes around comes around. My husband has been a good influence in my life. I had one baby it was a miscarriage. Now I have Joshua he is eight months old and he is doing great. I would love to have Two or four children because I think they are so precious. I am married and happy. I am a catholic but I am more spiritual. I am going to brush my teeth before going to bed. Yes I had breakfest. Toast and fruit. The baby made a big mess on me today. Poop everywhere. Now it is time for the baby to go to sleep.

Karma works. It's my favorite saying because... well... it does! The good things that I put out there, unselfishly, will come back to me. The bad things that I put out there, unthinkingly, will come back to me. Same goes for others... so that guy who flipped me off on the freeway... he'll get his. Oh yes.
I made me who I am. All of my choices, good and bad, have brought me to where I am today. I had a lot of help and love from family and friends, but I take responsibility for my own life.
My husband always brings out the best in me. Stupid people bring out the worst.
I don't have one child, because I placed her for adoption.
I'm married, and that's something really special.
I wouldn't say I'm religious or spiritual... more like I have faith.
I did brush my teeth (twice now!) and didn't clean the toilet (that's a Saturday job).
I always have breakfast. Best to start the day out right.

Well for breakfast I had a protein bar and a bottle of water, half the time I skip breakfast. I am trying to be better about that. I brush in the am and the pm and I usually clean my toilets every couple days because my son is a slob when he is in there. Sometimes I make him do it!! Yes Synnen, what goes around comes back around, that is the truth!! I was just thinking that when some jerk cut me off the other day, and when these girls cut me and my husband in line at the movies. So instead of screaming at them, I trust the universe will give it right back! HUgs to you too start, love you too...

Synnen, you are too "cool". I really think you are great. Anser me this, why do some people think it is wrong to believe in karma instead of say it is Gods work. I know a strong little debate but I have to ask, it has always confused me and has stopped me from using the word Karma many times. Just being honest because as you all know I am "growing" and need to know all of the things that make this world work inorder to be comepletely comfy!
Shattered, great response, my son's are sloppy too. I still believe what you do comes back around! Good morning everyone!

I'm not Christian, so I have a hard time with anything being "God's work"... but whose to say that Karma isn't "God's work"? Couldn't God just be punishing people for bad things, and rewarding them for good? Isn't it all in how you look at it?
I'm juggling 10 things right now, but wanted to get an initial answer down for you quick :)

Jun 19, 2007, 08:27 AM
Yes, I guess it is all in the language we use. I look at it to be the same thing, but people that don't believe in God don't. So I guess I am asking since I do believe in God, is it wrong for me to use the word Karma. It all means the same thing so I am gueessing it would be fine to use it. Tell me if I am wrong. Thanks Synnen, for answering so quickly!
shatteredsoul
Jun 19, 2007, 08:43 AM
No, I don't think God gets offended by any language we use, because why give us the gift of language, and the free will to use it? I think the biggest thing I have realized is that whatever you think, say or feel, is already known by our creator, or whatever name you are comfortable saying. I guess I realized that this life we are in is different for everyone and our perception of it, but in reality there is energy that we consist of, as does the universe. We have the ability to connect with it and use it positively or negatively, and however we use it, it somehow comes back. It doesn't have to be framed in a specific way to understand that. Ultimately, its like giving and receiving love. When your heart is open and gives freely, it receives it just the same. Maybe you receive it differently than you expected or wanted, but you still receive it. When you do good things for people and be supportive and it feels good, that is the positive energy flowing through us. Same thing for the negative stuff. I am not an expert but this is my view and I don't think God minds it at all, our purpose is to learn, grow and question what we believe. The bottom line is, for all of us, the answers are within are recognizing that is recognizing the gift of God within. Am I getting off topic now? Just trying to answer your question because I know Synnen had to go. Good Morning to all of you!!
Synnen
Jun 19, 2007, 08:48 AM
Shattered has it right... what difference does the word make?
If we love, and act on love, and do all of the things that "love" implies (charity, mercy, forgiveness, etc) --isn't it still love, regardless what it's called?
Same for hate--negativity, jealousy, resentment, anger---isn't it all just Really Bad Stuff?
Karma is, essentially, doing unto others and having others do unto you.
shatteredsoul
Jun 19, 2007, 08:50 AM

Duh, forgive my writing today! I meant to say, the answers are within, AND recognizing that , is seeing the gift of God within. Or, the realization of our connection with a greater existence, within us. I sound like a moron. I didn't drink coffee this morning and I am so screwed up!!
shatteredsoul
Jun 19, 2007, 08:57 AM
Yes, YEs Yes, Synnen!! That is exactly right. All of those things you describe are acts of love, or ways of expressing love. (Which are all "positive" things) Yet all the things that encompass hate, are considered "negative" things. However, if we dig deeper we realize that without both, we have no understanding of either. Therefore, not only are both necessary, but they do not exist without each other. God already knows this and this is part of our journey. That is why, as good as we can be and as much love as we give, we still partake in the negative as well. This is what the human experience is for! The negative stuff is a compass on how to learn to be different, better, more loving etc... We have to experience it all to really understand this life! Right? OK I think I am going off on a tangent I will shutup now and get a cup of coffee my head is killing me!! That is why we shouldn't regret what we do or how we do it, how else do we learn different?? Although I feel guilty and down on myself at times, I know deep down I am wasting my "energy" and it is useless. So, then I move on and focus on the good stuff again. I don't consider cleaning toilets part of the good stuff by the way, or doing laundry. I wish I did.

I am glad its so nice out, here it feels like a sauna outside. Hot! That's the problem with cleaning, as soon as you finish, you start all over. Yes I do love it when the toilet is clean, but as soon as its dirty again I am so annoyed. I like straightening up, its easier and the results are more quick. Dishes, ahhhhhh I think while I wash, I think, where the @@@$ is the maid! Just kidding. I get annoyed because the kitchen looks so nice with everything cleaned up. Then, its dinner time. We cook, spill, set the table, eat, and back to the sink to wash. It does get tiresome sometimes. I guess the right attitude would be, be thankful I have a home to clean and food to cook right? Goodafternoon everybody,
Hope you are all having a great day.
For me personally the word karma and using it. Is not a problem at all. There are many different words to describe one thing. That is what is so amazing about language.
I personally feel that our spirits, our hearts, our language goes beyond what we really understand. Our understanding is limited but God knows all.
I find this very interesting.
Oh, I have some questions.
What is your favorite season of the year? If your married how long have you been married for? What is your favorite activity? Sport?
I think it is fair to say that everybody here believes in karma and the thought behind it. How often have you seen and heard a lightning when it was snowing in the winter? I know, start came up with the best questions. I had some really good ones in my head this morning and by the time I got the computer they were all gone.
Oh my, we are getting a thunderstorm right now and I am still on the computer. Hope I do not get zapped or the computer lol.
Having cake for breakfast yummy yummy. That is quite the start. Who has ate breakfast food for supper before? Or dinner food for breakfast?
Well everybody, I am going to say goodbye for now.
Keep typing. (; Hugs
Joe

Spring, spring is my favorite season. It means new beginnings for everything, it also reminds us that there is light at the end of the tunnel when we are so sick of winter.
I have been married for 11 years not been with him for almost 13. I love coloring with the kids, I used to be athletic but now I am not but want to be again. I would have to say I love Antique shopping. There is something about the history in it that really gets me emotional. Wow, they did what with that is always my question... I have about 10 washboards hanging in my laundry room to remind me my days are good compared to what they could be! I have come to love GE and Maytag! If you guys haven't already heard I am known as the LAUNDRY QUEEN, I love clean clothes and blankies, they are my favorite! I love breakfast for dinner, we do it often. Oh the good ole piece of bacon and a wonderful plate of french toast and butter and syrup. MMMMM maybe tonight we will do that. Hope you guys are well, I am going to go and finish my chores, I will be tackling my daughters room in about 1/2 hour. Wish me luck my fellows, who knows, I may never get out alive...

If your married how long have you been married for? Married for 6 years on July 28, but I've been with him for 11 years
What is your favorite activity? Sport? Swimming, in the lake, preferably
I don't usually have breakfast for dinner, or vice versa, but lunch is fair game for any kind of food!

Never mind about the sharks. On the east coast. I loved going to the ocean. Swimming and clam digging. The thing we had to watch out the most there was the Stinging Jelly fish. Mind you I thankfully never got stung by one. Little Joshua is so so attached to his mama. I spend as much time with him as possible but then again mama feeds him. The natural way still. Alaska seas, oh that is rough in deed. Apparently the boat ride from Prince edward island to Newfoundland can be very rough.
catsandkittensandmittens, love your user name. By the sounds of it you love cats and kittens. Welcome by the way. Love is great and wonderful and so happy you love all the seasons.I do not really like it too cold or too hot. Summer is usually extremely hot and winter extremely cold. I think Spring is the best season. Somewhere in between for temperatures.
Startover22, how many hours would you spend on that boat? Do you remember how many halibut you would bring in. That is a big industry. Must have been a stressful job being a fisherman?
I have been married for almost 4 years now. Canadian sport that I loved to play when I was younger but never continued with it. HOCKEY. I sometimes have breakfast at supper and visa versa.
Has anybody seen a lightning storm in the winter snow storm. I have seen it. I seen it last year. It was an amazing site. I guess I am the only one but environment canada and meterologists mentioned that it does happened, so now I know I was not imagining it. Lol
I have another question. How many hours of sleep do you normally get a night. 3 or 4 hours for me, if that sometimes.

My dad di it for fun! He loves fishing and I did at one time too! I am pretty sure we could come back with three apiece so 6 times 3 is 18 so we came back with 18 hailut or less. Don't get me wrong the ocean is my favorite place in the whole world, I guess I should say the beach cause that is what I mean. I am from Alaska so I loved hockey too. If I had the choice I would get my butt out and play hockey or tackle football. My body is just not that tough anymore. I have never seen lightening and snow at the same time... I HAVE seen the northern lights which it is the most beautiful sight you could ever imagine. That is heaven for me. I will be gliding on the northern lights with my cool chic snowboard and a sled behind me with all the people I love. I NEED at least 8 hours or I can be a killer mom and wife. Beware, beware!

Hello everyone! Hope all of you are well and excited to beable to live in this day! I sure am. My youngest is four today and I am feeling a little weird that none of the kids are babies anymore... That's OK though just getting closer to the school days! Woo Hoo!

I am definitely feeling excited this morning because I drank a monster energy drink for breakfast. WHooooo HOooo!! Well, I had a weak moment. Happy 4th Birthday to the baby, don't worry he is still a baby in my book!! I know what you mean though. Ok here it goes. I tried to write three or four times last night but it kept getting messed up between going to basketball and dance for the kiddies! Oh, and the cable guy that came, what a pain. But, now I have Tvo, or however you say it.
First, I have two favorite seasons summer and fall. Summertime is so sweet because it brings me back to my childhood memories. Running barefoot through sprinklers, my fingers looking like prunes from staying in the pool for too long. Staying out late and playing outside until dark. The barbeques and firelies, oh and the fireworks. Watching everyone run around with sparklers, anyway, very nostalgic for me. Yes its hot, but the 4th of July is always so much fun. We usually celebrate on the beach nowadays, my kids splashing in the ocean and wearing their matching 4th of July outfits. I am weird about that. The beginning of Fall is also so beautiful. The anticipation of the change in weather, leaves turning colors and the excitement of the holidays approaching, are all reasons I really love fall. I don't really do well on holidays, it gets really stressful and I tend to feel more trepidation than anything. I love being with family, its all the planning and scheduling that turn it into a circus! Ahhh the ocean, the lake, a river, a streamwhatever body of water I can get into makes me smile and feel so serene. I love the beach, playing in the waves, and looking for shells. Northern Lights, I have always wanted to see and experience, must be absolutely breathtaking. I read a book called Northern LIghts about a guy who moves to Alaska. It sounds like a remote but beautiful place to live. I like fishing but I am not crazy about deep sea fishing, you are a brave soul! I am sure you endured some cold days and rough seas. You are not a weenie in my book! Well, I have made a list things I want to do, one of them before my birthday. I am going skydiving!! I am excited. Am I nuts or what? Hugs to all of you , this is fun. Sorry I am so slow with getting back, enjoy your day all of you!

Wow Shattered, sky diving? You are nuts! My dad did it for his 50th birthday, and loved it but said that would be his first and LAST time ever doing it! I can't wait to get to my dad's a 6 or 7 hour drive, that all deppends on our spur of the moment stops or if my bladder holds out! Anyway, I wonder if I can trust his direcctions. Anyone got one of those cool things that tell you when to turn, (I would like one with a soft deep mans voice though) Have a great day! Start

I am nuts, but hey you only live once right?? So does that mean you are going to Alaska? I am jealous because I have always wanted to go there. My dad would love to live there actually. I totally need one of those navigation things, maybe with Johnny Depps voice would be cool. I might get lost in listening to his voice though, lol. YOu have a great day toooooo!!

WEll better to be that than boring I always say!! Washington is beautiful too. I've never been there either. Now which son will be giving you directions? Not the four year old I hope, LOL. Are you going soon? Does that mean you will be away from your computer>? How will I survive? JK Hugs to you my friend.
OH yeah, I get at least eight hours of sleep a night, usually. I have been married for ten years and together with my husband for 15. I have two beautiful children. My daughter is 10 and my son is 7. They are my saving grace.
Start, I had breakfast for dinner the other night, it was scrumptious! The kids even ate seconds!!
I also want to go mountain climbing soon, I haven't done that since I was a kid. My dad used to take us camping everywhere instead of amusement parks. My favorite trip was the Grand Canyon. WE rode down to the bottom on mules and stayed at Phantom Ranch on New Year's eve. It was awesome. Yellowstone Park and the Badlands are pretty cool too. (and the Grand Tetons) I can't wait to get out there, being in nature I feel like God is all around me, same as love!!

Yes my 12 year old will be my force to get where we are going... Max would direct me to toys R us! My daddy has a puter and I will pop in every once in a while. I leave in the morning. Gone till Saturday unless Dustin is going to go rafting with his friend till Sunday then I won't come back till Sunday! Why return if he won't be home, right? I went to the Grand Canyon when I was 9 and was thinking the worst about me falling down on accident and dying right then and there. It was pretty but my thought got in my way. That is one thing I am working on. MY THOUGHTS! Maybe we can meet up at some point for a girls week or something. My husband would find it strange that I would want to spend a week with someone I met on the computer would yours? Funny how we are so different in so many ways. Nature is my church!

I have to watch out for everything. He gets into it all. He actually started getting his hands on everything when he was a lot younger. He makes me laugh for all the simple things he does. Startover you asked for my favorite quote. It's just my favorite quote because it makes people think as to why they feel their god is the true god when there are so many gods out there. I also like the quote that says "we are both atheist when it comes to Zeus."
As for kids my wife and I still don't know if we want kids or not. We are still young and we go back and forth.
Shatteredsoul
Atheist's beliefs are as varied as anyone else's. The general classification is someone that doesn't believe in god. Most people in this day and age attribute it to people that don't believe in the God of the Jews. The truth is that unless you believe in all gods that have ever been dreamed up you are an atheist in some form. My personal belief is since the christian god is a rather recent invention of man I don't think that if there is a god we haven't found him yet and we should probably not be so bold as to say that we know everything about him. I hold no contempt for organized religion I think it is great for some people and it might even be needed to have an organized society.
startover22
Jun 20, 2007, 12:07 PM
Yes I did, and I get it now. I get all worked up sometimes and move without thinking. I wasn't thinking when I first read it. Funny how I do that sometimes. I appreciate your answer, I hope that some day you will have healthy wonderful children if you ever come to the conclusion that you want kids! I always wanted kids, I started a little early, you know, before I grew emotionally, before college, and before I knew how to deal with myself. Having kids kind of takes care of all that for you in a way! And yes in some ways we are all atheist. Hope your vacation is going well. Bye for now1

Interesting thoughts. There are so many different beliefs. There are so many different opinions. It is good to have people of different opinions and thoughts and beliefs. I do believe we all learn from each other. May not be immediate or may not realize it at the beginning but we all have something to learn from each other.
Good to see you here on the thread.

Well I guess I shouldn't assume what you believe or don't, to assume makes an a@@ of you and me, right? Back to you. I too do not hold any contempt for organized religion, but I do not believe in it either. So I too have a personal belief that is not typical of one believing in God. In fact, I believe all Gods that have been dreamt up are all the same and essentially come from the same higher existence other than ourselves. That meaning, I know that I don't know who or what God is, but that every understanding of him is not wrong or untrue, just perceived differently by each one of us. Religion is like language, most of understand each one differently, or relate to one that makes the most sense to them. It is a way of feeling safe and to hold on to something that helps us know how to navigate our lives. The God that I believe in has no limits or boundaries in religion and exists within all of us and connects us all by the energy we are made up of. So, I am not bold enough to think I understand the grandness of that notion, but I do recognize the limitless of this and other existences.

I don't really have a favorite saying... nothing that I always refer to, but I guess I tend to tell myself 'things will get better" if I am feeling down, and that is just something I have complete faith in, and I never question it. I know that no matter how miserable I am at one point and no matter how much I don't feel like going on... Things always get better eventually... and they do.
I guess I have come to this conclusion because I have had many lows in my life, but I always find a way out- the light is always there. I like to think it is God which fills me with this encouragement. So I am indeed spiritual, but I do not consider myself religious. I call myself as Christian-other just for the simplicity of it, but I do not feel as though I know enough nor follow the bible or any church... so I am really not anything (religious-wise)
Who made me who I am- My mom! Of course I can name so many other people who have touched and molded me in different ways, but I would be far different person without my mother. She has been through so many turmoils in life and has always come out all the better. She is solid and honest, a hard worker and has the best intentions for everyone. She has really inspired me to be a good person no matter what, and that is one of the proudest things I have in my life- that I am forgiving, understanding and loyal to no end.
Hmm, who or what brings out the worst in me? Well I can't figure out one person or thing, but I would say guys in general... relationships to be more specific. In a relationship is when I have felt at my lowest.
I do not have any children- no big answer here other than just haven't found the right person yet... and have been lucky to not have any with the wrong person.
I am in a relationship right now- nothing too serious just still getting to know each other.
I did brush my teeth before coming to work... and I will be brushing them soon before bed!
I don't clean toilettes here- Thankfully! They are all public (deployed status)
I did have breakfast, cereal and a packet of jelly... weird I know, I just wanted something sweet but not too filling, haha.
And yes Love is all around me!

So Start, sounds like you might not be around as much for a while??
Shattered, another good quote.
Supper is done and baby getting ready for bed time. I got home really early from work today so I was able to spend some excellent quality time with the babes and my wife.
I am so so so jealous of people who say they can get 8 to 10 hours of sleep. Some of them even claim to still be tired when I am jumping and running around and living off three arrrrg. Lol
Just wanted to say Goodnight to everybody.
Hugs and see you all here tomorrow.

Running a small business is hard work but he is tenacious and spends his life trying to provide us with a good life. You are so blessed to have that time with them and they are so blessed to have you be so excited about being with them. IT is a wonderful thing, family. It can also be the worst thing. Yet we have the opportunity every day to make it better, to enjoy it more and to be thankful for the joy in our lives. This brings us to the awareness of love all around us, as start puts it. TOmorrow is never promised, but we have today, right now, this minute, this moment to feel that way and be better.

Shattered,
Growing up I had a biological father that was not there for most my life. Later on I had a stepdad that raised me but of course it was not the same. To this very day he is a workalholic. Seven days a week. Caused friction and tension and much more. It showed me and taught me what is more important in life. I am completely the opposite because of the way I was raised up. That is why at the beginning I said my only true Father, is God. How he was my role model. Even with extra time with my baby and my wife sometimes I feel it is not enough and that I need more. All I know is that I am a better person today because of what experiences I have had in the past. It is a beautiful and precious time and I hope and pray that my baby boy and wife and any future children will benefit and have even a better future because of the values and presence of a committed husband and both parents being their for them.
Thank you Shattered for what you wrote.

Oh Jesushelper, they already are benefitting from it, they already are. You learned through loss and disappointment and pain, that is truly the most insightful thing you could gain from such an experience. I wish you didn't have to endure such a childhood, but from what you didn't have, you give to your family and hence, you have in a different but just as fulfilling way. I am happy to know such a committed and loving husband and I think your values and presence seep through the pages of these posts for all to read. Hey shattered, I loved the trip, my dad was so kind and was as patient as a 59 year old man can be with the kids. He had picked flowers before I got there and put them in the most beautiful vase I have ever seen and he also bought me a little blooming plant at the store so I could take it home with me. (keep in mind my dad doesn't buy things for ANYBODY) OK, I will go on and I will get to the point later: My kids, well, he went to the grocery store and bought a bunch of "kid food" he bought these special fishing poles that look like shot guns or something, musta been spendy, you can only get them on T.V... he gave my some a 1916 boyscout knife, my daughter a nice fishing pole and tried to buy her a pair of shoes at the hardware store (they were too small) took the big kids down to the rodeo. He spend every waking moment with my kids, he never took one nap (HE ALWAYS TAKES A NAP) You guys it was so crazy, every time the kids walk out, he would ask was I good to you? What about this situation, did I handle it right, did I pay attention? He listened and ask why I never told him about some things and I said well, I thought it was your job to find them out and then we just sat there laughing, almost crying at some points. Too wonderful of a trip. Loved it. I am pooped but I loved every minute of it. So now I get to my point, this man has been sort of distant for almost 15 years, not gone but he is distant, he married a woman that we all never liked and still have a hard time being around her, I think he has something up his sleeve, I think my dad wanted me to know he was sorry for the mistakes he made, I told him I was sorry too, but if he would have really cared about what I said "back then" I would not have done half the stuff I did and gotten myself into trouble. I want to say that, Love was all around me, there was light at the end of my tunnel, and I am learning to this day about the man I have known for 32+ years. Thanks for listening to my rave! Hope you guys had something change in you this weekend. It was remote and beautiful where I was I am in awe.

I am so happy and excited for you!! This journey really was life changing it seems! Yes, I understand and I can relate. I think we are more similar than we know! He really was reaching out to you and trying to discover where and when he went wrong in anything along the way. What more could a child ask for?? NOt that you are a child, but to him you always will be his little girl. IT sounds like he doted on the children and enjoyed every minute of it. What a blessing!! I wonder what's the similarity, my dad is also a remote and beautiful place. ITs great to get away and be a part of something so simple and breathtaking at the same time. I am sure you weren't worried about laundry or bills till you got back. The house I am sure needs a once over. I know when I go away with the kids, he might have tried to clean up, but it ain't the same!! AWWWW thanks start. I am glad you missed me! Well you know what I mean. I don't think that my words flow better, I just don't shut up long enough for them to stop pouring out. I think you are one of the few who like to hear me go on and on. What you say is pure, and beautiful and simple. Simplicity is a good thing. I am still working on that. I scare people away with my gibberish. I am sure whatever you shared was from the heart and it was music to his ears, with all of you there, the LOVE was ALL AROUND HIM!!

Hey Joe, thanks for the greenie, you are too sweet. How is the house? Done redoing it for the "big" boy. Just wait till he gets in the dishwasher and refuses to come out. Sh-- I have so many wonderful pictures of my kids in mischief... I wish I could get an album together just of those pictures alone, that would be so funny!! Jett he was about 1, he got out the flour and eggs and butter and spread it all over the floor drew pictures in it, I was laughing so hard when I found him, he is still doing things like that and he is 5, sheesha, those were the good ole days! WOW,
Joe gone coo coo with his spelling.
Hello start I am back, How are you doing?
I have been busy with Joshua. It is hard to go on the computer now. Before it was easy going on the computer. I was looking for art stuff on the computer before. I was looking how to do 3D art on the computer but no luck :(. Joshua is pulling my toes while I am typing on the computer. I should go now. Going to get Joshua ready for bed.

Hey you Proud, glad to here you are good. Tell that little one to go play so you can have a moment. I usually get on here at rest time or in the morning before all the kids come here. What kind of art are you looking into? What do you mean 3-d art on the computer? I have never seen it before! I hope you don't mind me giving your husband crap, he seems like he needs it! HAHAHAHA Just kidding. Did you guys get it all kid proofed? I have been there before but make sure you don't put too much away cause you will never be able to bring it out until he is older. I learned that lesson with our third boy. The first two never touched anything but our 3rd boy was absolutely crazy, he got into everything I didn't bring my pretties out until he was four... I learned my lesson for the fourth baby!! Hope you have a good night. Hugs to you, Start

Hey There,
Letting the baby play in the playpen. So I can come on the computer. When the baby naps I try to nap as well. I am not a morning person like Joe. He pops out of bed even when he only has 2 hours of sleep. When I was talking about the 3d art is like the cartoons that you see on television that looks so real. I like art and I am artistic.. That is my strong area..
I do not mind if you give my husband crap, sometimes he needs it. Lol
Thanks for letting me know, not to put too much stuff away. I just like to put my art stuff away. I need to find a better place for it soon though.

Ah ha, I love art, but I am no good. My kids seem to have their daddy in them, they are great artists... I hope Joshua has your talent! 2 hours of sleep would kill me. 8 hours or you better watch out. No kidding! As long as you keep your pretties out and teach him the word no and that you mean it when you say it, you will be great! Hope you are having a nice day! Hugs, Start

My son is an excellent artist, he usually makes more art on the table then he does on the paper though, LOL. He draws every football teams uniform, helmet with colors and all. He also loves drawing cars (race cars). I wish he would go to art class, but when I take him he says I want to go home. Well, as long as he is being creative it doesn't matter where it is right? Keep on letting him expressing himself anyway he likes! I pick my battles.

On my mothers side of the family there are different artists. I put some of my art stuff on the computer to save it. I think Joshua will be an artist as well. I see him looking at art pictures and paintings a lot. I am teaching him already what to tcuch and what not to touch. I am having a good day. Joshua is breaking through more teeth today.
About the football, my husband is not a football fan. He is a hockey fan. Lol canadians.
Shattered that is hilarious about the art on the table and not on the paper.

Does swimming in the pool count as clean? LOL I hear you. You must have some electric bill! How many towels a day do you wash. I am so jealous of your homemaking skills.
startover22
Jun 27, 2007, 09:44 AM
Swimming does count. Nana has a pool and they go almost everyday, my husband gets off at 3:30 but the kids don't leave her until 6 or 6:30 so he picks up our own kids and takes them up there sometimes they are gone till bed time. Fine with me, takem all you want I say to him. I love a clean home, laundry is my favorite thing to do and I don't like snotty noses on kids. So I am constantly wiping. I am known as the "WIPER" noses and butts LOL!! There is nothing like coming home from the store to a clean house or leaving for the week end and walking in and finding that all you have to do is put away some camping stuff cause everything else is done. That is my happiness. I know there should be more to my happiness but really there isn't! I have been doing a lot more laundry since the boys got back so I might not like it as much, instead of 2 or 3 loads a day, I do 4 or 5, just a matter of how many have peed and what sheets might have gotten soiled. The foster boys were not potty trained when I first started watching them 6 months ago, at age 5 and 4 they needed to be so I gave them an m&M every time they went, three days later they were good to go, the 5 year old still has more than one accident a day but hey, we are breaking ground. Am I just going on and on like you? You are rubbing off on me Shattered, I love it though! I need to visit with the boys

I leave mine on top of the dryer and washer all the time, I never said I put it away. That is the worst part about it. I can wash, dry, and fold but I make the kids take their crap upstairs (when I think about it0 and they usually comply! I hang all shirts and make them do it to.. Oh my I am a brute. I am not very good about other things, like blow drying my hair always occures in the kitchen, I can't keep my eyes off the kids or something will happen Guaranteed!! I file my feet in the living room and I pee with the door open all the time. Sound strange yet? Yup, and if my milk is more than three days in the fridge, you won't see me drinking it. Left overs will be eaten the night after or not at all. I am weird now that I think aobut it!!

That is a great idea. Maybe right after nap to get his "new" energy out. You know, a baby can be very needy Proud, we all have days that we want a few minutes alone. If I were there I would babysit and you could be doing whatever you wanted. He should be learning to play alone for a while. Start showing him how to line trains and trucks up together or in a line. I found that when I did that they either took time themselve to get it done or they just wrecked it. Find a toy that he really likes and let him be by himself for a few. He obviously loves his mama very much, I miss being needed like that! Lucky! Oh well, good night to you Proud...

I am OK now. I love the kids. They are always hugging me and loving me. The bickering is what KILLS me. Why can't we all just get along. Poopr babies! The foster boys left with their mother to go to dinner and get funky haircuts and I tickled my little ones on my bed for about 30 minutes. I quit right before they felt like peeing their pants. I lifted them and flipped them all over the place, I felt better after that. There is something about playing on a "parents" big bed that is soooo exciting for some reason... LOVE COMES WITH A SMALL PRICE TAG

Don't ask me why I'm on this crazy thread with you crazy people, but here I go
"what goes around, comes around " is my favorite saying and how I see the world which explains why I'm always trying to smile, and get one from those around me. I took the kids to the store when they where small and told them I bet that's a nice lady, pointing to the severe looking cashier, who wasn't speaking to anyone, so when we got our turn I asked "how are you today ma'am" and she just beamed, and her eyes twinkled, And she said, "just fine how about yourself what nice looking kids you have"... I just happened to look back, and everyone in line was smiling, so that's when I knew and the kids learned to keep the teeth white, so you can give others your best heartfelt smile. I don't do toilets (if I can help it:o ) but I make a filling breakfast, and really enjoy the grand kids, as they keep me young (and worn out) Now, I have to feed brunch, to the females, who get up whenever they please, so is potato chips and pickles a good breakfast?? or brunch at this hour!!
startover22
Jun 28, 2007, 09:32 AM
You don't have to pretend you are not crazy. We all know the truth! LOL. I know exactly what you are saying, my favorite thing is to put a smile on a strangers face. LOVE IT! I was at the store the other day and I asked the 150 year old if she needed help putting the huge bags of potting soil in her car, she says no, honey I have been doing this for years. I said OK. Well, my son and I are walking out and guess who I saw? I told my son to go and offer your help one more time, I know she will accept. Well three thanks you's later and my son felt wonderful. I am glad we had the chance to make her day. She told me that she doesn't normally accept help she wants to be independent, I ask her how she was going to do that with a BROKEN BACK?? We both kind of just stood laughing and just went on our way! Thanks for spreading the love. And yeas we think you are crazy and great!

I went into Canadian tire, and walmart and walk around like gimpy and talk as if I need a lot of help. Like being locked up. Many people laugh to see such a sport. I use my strange humour and gift of changing my voice to make people laugh. I did that this morning with Joshua when he was biting my fingers off, and at first he did not know how to react, looked like he was about to cry but then he started laughing and giggling and noticed it was something funny not series.

Hello everyone,
I don't have any bun in the oven. Joe is so silly he makes me laugh. Even how embarrassing he can be outside. Sometimes I whack him silly and walk a way :o . What I wanted to say it was not big news. It was something that the baby did that's all. Joe got you all worked up for nothing:D how mean  .
I am going to say something completely different about the baby.
I tried to put the baby in the playpen again and try to see if he will cry and he did. So I hummed a lullabye that my mom sang to me when I was young. WOOHOO It worked.
Joe is reading a book to Joshua now and Joshua is just grabing the book and biting it instead. It is falling apart now :(
Earlier he was in his stationary toy and He had a huge poop. It went all over the legs, feet and all over the floor. What a mess .

Happy nine months to Joshua. What a beautiful time. I really love that age. It is so nice that you get so much time together as a family. You are all truly blessed to have that. Yes, they do get big before they know it. You will look back a year from now and be like, where did the time go?? Kiss that beautiful munchkin for me, I really love his cheeks. What a doll. How many do you think you will have?? I used to want six but after two I became a chicken to have more. I think start has it right, she has four and she has created such a legacy for her family. Her husband must beam with pride when he sees what they have made!! LOVE to all this morning, love to all!!

Joshua has the 4 top teeth coming in all at once now.
Well I would love to have 4 children. At the same time after Joshua I think maybe 2 would be enough. You never know though. Love being a father. It also depends on everybodies health.
Well love to you all.

I couldn't believe that Joshua has his four top teeth already. One teeth is taking forever to come down and the other ones are coming in faster. I just hope he won't get my teeth. I would love to have four children, I am not sure if we are going to have that many. On my side of the family has two differenet kinds of twins, I just don't know them too much. So we might have a set of twins next time we try having another baby. Before I was thinking to adopt a child and I still am. First I would like to have my own children.

Very nice quote, I like that.
I also checked on Joshua he is sleeping now but he is sleeping weird. New way. Instead of sleeping on his side. He is sleeping on his stomach his head up against the bars of the crib and his a@@ sticking up in the air.

Hi,
I am so glad I found this thread. I really needed to hear Like-minded people sharing same journey. What is the background/meaning of your name. From what I have read, so far, you Must have had an incedible epiphamy. How wonderful. You sound like a friend I would love to have nearby :)
My favorite sayings:
To Thine Self Be True... W. Shakesphere (almost sure).. Because if I am not honest with myself in any situation, the events that follow, will go down the wrong path.
How important is it?. when in a conflict/discussion over a situation that is going, obviously NO WHERE, Or a decision I have to make -i ask myself this question and it gives me 2 Choices... 1) It is worth the fight-and fight until I win or 2) it isn't worth my time dealing with someone or something that is NOT important to me and walk away... I usually choose door #2.
Anyone who really understood who I was, would not be so adamant of WINNING but rather interested in entertaining the idea that there may be more than one way of looking at things.
That saying goes hand in hand with "Do i want to be right? Or do i want to be happy? I tend to go with the HAppy state. LIfe is too short to BS around, especially with close minded thinkers and unwilling to see other aspects to life.
Living in my life was painful and dark for a long time until i found out there was hope for a better way. I have learned so much and grown myself, I continue to strive for a deeper Spiritual connection with God. He is the only one, when the going gets rought, that will show me that light-when i ask- God answers prayers-He does. But it took me such a long to "get that notion"... I still forget. I am NOT religious at all, I believe in faith, divine intervention.
I love life and people with kind and good hearts. I try not to deal with people who are all about themselves, and false.
God watches our Hearts not our actions.. It is all about Motive and Intention. God loves us and is NOT out to punish us, but steer us towards the LOVE, the right thing, the good things. This is what I feel to be true for me.
Today I did not have breakfast but usually do. LOVE my morning coffee mmmm with some hot chocolate in it.
My husband brings that to me on the weekends, ymmy.. and a Smile. Life is good.
He is great. I am blessed to have him. First time married -2 1/2 yrs happy, 3 kids I do not have :( [ too young and too naïve,] 2 step children girls 12 and 4- They came with the marriage, 2 mothers that came with the girls.

Awww Mango, nice to meet you. Thanks for sharing. This is a great place to come if you ever just have a thought and want to share it. It can be deep or shallow. Hay start,
I have been so busy with the baby. I sometimes get so tired at the end of the day. Not today though. It is all worth every moment. I saw the video Joe put on the post he is silly. He loves to make people laugh. He is such a wonderful man. He worries sometimes and the same goes with me, I used to worry way too much. Joe has helped me to get out of it.
Joshua has got hurt a couple of times while crawling. I know it is going to happen but I do not like seeing the baby get hurt. But its part of learning to crawl and walk.
Have a goodnight.

Proud, you are so cute. You are going to worry worry worry till you second, third and fourth child. The first well, we said we would never spank him, yell at him, (I cursed at him yesterday for no reason) he is 13 now, our second was a huge handflul, she is 10 and still is a handful. Our third, well he is five and has had a broken arm, eaten more worms than I can tell, had snot hanging almost to the floor, and well little maxy just turned four and he likes to say butt crack. There is nothing to worry about honey... Awww crap things come whether you want them to or not, it isn't the situation, it is how you handle it! (don't curse at your 13 year old no matter how snotty he was) let your babes eat worms if they want and tell them to dream big!! Look out Mama he's going to walk in a few months! Love is definitely here!

Start, Are you kidding? No one else remembers? It's like the first kind of film I ever saw that stuck in my head about how life could be like in the future. Well the Terminator series of course runs on the parallel (destruction wise).
Regardless, that movie, I could really relate and comprehend. It isn't far fetched at all.
I agree about the fear and ignorance of people who claim to be so righteous. It is just that fear of the unknown in disquise.
I know if each of us as individuals create our own "save my place on this earth" niche and make a difference in every little way, it will change. How do we make enough people join the band wagon.
The litter, the smog, the careless, irresponsible people who think , "someone else can do the hard work i don't have to do anything, because it's just me".. Is so infuriating, yet out of my control (regarding their efforts)..
I do know I can and will make a difference for my part of the world. Wow,, I momentarily fell into the Well... Depth and all...

Mango, Yes global warming is a big issue. Even if other people do not believe in it, we have been polluting our air, water , etc... We have the responsibility to change that. There is also the trees that produce the oxygen we need. We are getting a double wammy because of pollution and chemicals in the water and air ontop of that cutting down forests and trees at an alarming rate, how are we going to replenish the oxygen we all need to live?

Here are the titles and I recommend them big time.
Partition - Very very true and touching story.
Primevil - It was third in my opinion but still a good movie.

Love love love lolz.
My fave saying at the moment, would either be the poem "I believe in Angels, the kind that heaven sends, i have them all around me, i just call them friends" or this little thing I came up with "No greater love than gods love, no greater gift than christs blood, no greater glory than the glory of god"
Who I am today? Came about due to personal change, depression, god, this chick who I adore, art, music, life in general, friends.
Single, no kids (im a bit young for kids) I'm christian, I brushed my teeth twice this morning, didn't sleep at all, had toast for brekky at like 4 am,
Love is in the air! Raaaaarrr! Love! Raaaaarr!
O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
Though I'm actually an aussie and I've never been to canada but oh well.

ADVANCE AUSTRALIA FAIR
Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We've golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature's gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history's page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.
Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We'll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who've come across the seas
We've boundless plains to share;
With courage let us all combine
To Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.

I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shopping and have buttered scones for tea
Mounties:
He cuts down trees, he eats his lunch
He goes to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays he goes shopping and has buttered scones for tea.
Chorus:
He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
I cut down trees, I skip and jump
I like to press wild flowers.
[Lumberjack Song lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]
I put on women's clothing and hang around in bars.
Mounties:
He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women's clothing and hangs around in bars?!
Chorus:
He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
I cut down trees, I wear high heels
Suspenders and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie, just like my dear Papa!!
Mounties:
I cut down trees, I wear high heels?!
Suspenders...and a bra?!...
Just the Lumberjack:
I wish I'd been a girlie, just like my dear Papa!!

Which one? Mad Max or What's Love got to Do with it?. You know, besides recycling and doing my part, what has given me the most satisfaction and empowerment as a human on this earth, is to pick up trash that I notice. Not just to comment on it, and be disgusted by it with judgment, but to actually take it a step further and pick it up.
It goes against the ideal of " it's not mine, i didn't litter, etc.." as we have been trained through society, but when actual initiative is taken to "do my part" in cleaning up the earth,.
It sure feels DARN good and becomes compelling in a weird sort of way...
What do you think of that? And would you be willing to start? If you haven't already done so? Let me know your thoughts.

Well we have the regular cops and the RCMP. The Royal mounted canadian police are the ones that wear red uniforms and ride on horses. Lol

That is a tough one for me. I will tell you why and I hope you do not think it is just me and making up excuses but I have a germ phobia and to actually try to succeed in picking up all the trash especially in the big city would take ages. Unless everybody did it, just me though I do not touch anybodies else's garbage. Not that I would not be willing to start but I think I could do better in the area of fighting for the trees and replenting trees and do my part that way. Those are my thoughts anyway.

This chick in church was like "I like trees! Trees get oxygen from their leaves, and oxygen is breath, and breath is like gods holy spirit, and trees have roots (everyboy laughs at the word roots) okay... trees have tentacles! I like trees! I want to be a tree!
Myself, I have an irrational fear of mirrors and windows at night time, and I like to stand/walk in the rain and think.

I do understand and everybody contributes in their own way. Just the fact and intention to do whatever needs to be done is awsome and commendable. Good for you on replanting trees. I think THAT is a monumental effort right there.
Positive thinking and positive energy output is a subtle yet impacting endeavor for the universe.
Our Thoughts and intentions create our reality. We create and control our thoughts: Love or anger... We do have the control.

Trees make oxygen. We breath in oxygen. We release carbon dioxide. Trees eat carbon dioxide. We cut down trees. We plant trees.
Sounds pretty balanced.

I think there should be more trees planted and that will help keep the oxygen supply and in good force. I also believe that thoughts create. We all have a tendency to fall into the negative thoughts reach creates our energy around us. I do believe completely that what thoughts we have and positive thinking will impact the universe. Creating our reality is that not a strong statement. We all are creators. Yes, each individual has that control. You have the same mind set.

Just a question...
Who's turn is it to breath? We need to create some kind of roster or something.
