Movie where woman goes into labor at the beginning of the movie

The movie started with a woman going into labor and all the lights in the hospital were flickering and braking. The woman died. Later on the movie son she had was about 10 he was stand in a lake, placed his hands in the water at sent a bonce of leeches after the other boy that was in lake with him.
