How can I remove a stuck non-threaded plastic nipple for bathtub faucet?
A contractor left my bathroom remodel job (after installing only the bathtub, a 1/2" off I might add). I am at the point now that I want to install the faucet. The contractor left a piece of PVC (of CPVC?) sticking out of the wall where the bathtub faucet goes. The faucet I have is supposed to screw on (the outlet end) of a metal nipple. I have tried to get the PVC out and it won't budge. He also left this same sort of configuration in the hot/cold outlets where I will be installing cut-off valves for the sink. I have not tried to loosen these as I know they are under water pressure and I want to be sure of what I am doing before I turn off the water to the house. What can I do to correctly install the faucet and cut-off valves? I don't have money for a plumber as the contractor got what I had set aside.

Do you mean where the spout goes? If so you don't take the pipe out. You cut it off at the proper length, glue on a threaded adapter and then screw on the spout.

For the stub outs for the water supply you cut off the pipes, slip on an escutcheon. Then put a compression fit stop valve.

I'm assuming that my bathtub faucet is the twist off kind because I don't see any screws. Also it does turn. It turns and turns and turns and never gets any looser. The pipe is not turning either so we think it is striped. Any suggestions. We really want to get it off there.

I'm trying to fix a leaky hot water handle on my bathtub. I can get the handle off, but I cannot get the trim off.
