Fridge in the garage - Icemaker hook up?
Hi there, we have a fridge in the garage. It was moved there due to a leaky icemaker. We'd like to hook it up to a hose bib to see if we can repair the leak before moving it back into the house. What adapter would I need to go from a hose bib to an icemaker connection?
    Thanks

Find a discarded garden hose, a short piece of 1/2 copper pipe, end cap and hose clamp. Solder on the end cap to the 1/2 copper, cut off the male end of the hose, insert the copper in the hose and clamp. Connect a 1/4 ice maker piercing valve to the copper pipe.

Dishwasher water supply kits contain a female garden house end to 3/8" compression. Sort piece of 3/8" tubing to 1/4" compression adapter would work. This same style fitting is available separately in female garden hose to 1/4" compression (exactly what you need). One piece, simple; but a little harder to find. Either will work. Try your favorite hardware store. Hope this helps.

Got this from a plumbing site. They have a brass adapter. Thanks for the other answers.
    ------------------
If you still have the 1/4" OD compression water line attached to your
ice maker than we do offer a garden hose adapter that is sized 1/4" OD
compression (to hook up to the water flex line) x 3/4" female hose
thread (to hook up to any standard garden hose). Below is a link to the
page on our site where this adapter can be purchased for $5.06 + shipping.

If you do not have the water flex line still attached or available to
use we offer those as well. Here is a link to that page:
