My mother has her own independent business(news paper carrier). I have been doing them for her for the last 9 months. In which we left the business in her name. She pays me in cash. Can I file the 1099 for myself? The 1099 is in her name. Can this be done or does she need to file them herself? We live in Connecticut.

You both need to file Schedule C on your own tax returns.

She claims you as a subontractor and shows ZERO income.

NEXT year, have the 1099 done in your name with your SSN.
