Heater is heating although it's turned off. How do I turn the pilot off?
.It's been sitting uninstalled for a year, then I installed it, it has gas going to the valve, but NO PILOT, and it seems no gas is coming to the pilot. 'Where do it begin priming or restarting a unit that's been sitting for awhile? It's still in new condition and barely ever used. Thanks...
I replaced with non programmable digital thermostat. I connected the two wires correctly. I turn pilot on but when I turn the thermostst to the temp I want the pilot turns off. Any I deas? Should I get a new old style thermostat. The old one would work if I put a screw driver tip on the contact...
However hard I tried to keep the pilot knob pushed in, I cannot get the burner inside heater to lit up (forget staying lit - it does not lit up at all). This is just the second year with the heater - so quite brand new. Gas seems to be on, because I can get the heater working in a different room....
