UPC - Use of Tees in Horizontal vent
    Anyone:
Where a vertical vent meets a horizontal vent in a Tee, does the code require a San-Tee?

    TIA

You can use a combo, even a wye with various els... Short Santees have less of a gradual bend into the horizontal run. Some snakes do not pass the bend for easy cleanout. Nm

    It does require a Sanitary-Tee.

Do not confuse a San-Tee with a Vent-Tee, though. A Vent Tee is a straight tee with no built in venturi allowing for direction of flow -- They are sold all along the West Coast in the big box stores, but are expressly forbidden for use by the UPC.

With the UPC's more stringent clean out requirements, snaking through a vent is less of a concern.
