a few days ago I made a very idiotic mistake,I went with my friends to a store and I was caught stealing, what I had tried to take was valued of slightly over 30$,I was told that we would receive I fine,but since we are regular customers, I wondered if there was any way to have the fine dismissed?

It doesn't matter if you are regular customers, that is even worse then being strangers in the store and stealing from them. No, don't think this is a good enough reason, and a lame one, to have a fine dismissed. If it is just a fine, you are lucky.

Sorry let me rephrase that, due to my condition we regularly purchase medical supplies,medication for a period over many years,thousands of dollars are spent, and I admit this isn't a really good reason but, it is our place to buy things. Obviously being a customer is not a reason to dismiss the fine, but as a question in general, can fines be dismissed? Its not the money that is making me nervous,but the consequence that this fine might make,I wasn't charged by the store or the police, ( warning was made) I'm just curious of how the fine will affect me( not monetarily) ,and if it can be cancelled in general

I am absolutely astonished! My late husband owned several Pharmacies. He had a LOT of "regular" customers for a LOT of years. Not a single one ever stole from him/us and used the "good, regular customer" reason as an excuse.

No, fines get paid. Fines don't get dismissed. If it's the money that is concerning you, what exactly is your concern? You haven't been arrested, you haven't been charged, you haven't been fingerprint had mug shots taken. So it's about the money.

How will the fine affect you? You'll have that much less in your pocket at the end of the day.

I wouldn't let you back in the store, "good customer" or not. Apparently we have very different versions of what a "good customer" is.

Just so I have this right, how many "thousands of dollars" do you have to spend over a period of years before you are entitled to steal and not be fined? You are aware, of course, that people spend thousands of dollars A YEAR in the same stores, right?

Tickle, I've shopped for groceries in the same place for years. I never knew that entitled me to steal from them!

If you weren't arrested and this is between you and the store, no, it won't affect your employment. Who set the fine? If it was the Police, yes, there will be a record of it that will follow you.

You have spent thousands of dollars there but you are shopping with friends and concerned about your ability to become employed? I assume you aren't currently working?

I am under the age of 16, the policeman said that they had nothing on me except a small note on file,so nothing was made on my record,but the fine itself, will it be noted somewhere? If so can it be used to tarnish my parents right to be employed in security clearance environments?me and my parents are going in next week to talk to the manager about the business, but as I said the money isn't my concern but the legal effects on me and my parents

Retailers are permitted to charge a civil fine for theft. Generally this fine is from $250-$500 depending on store and msituation.. As a ,minor your parents will be informed of the fine.

Your being a frequent customer may or may not have an affect on the store's decision.

Sorry for missing out on a detail, I was told I was banned from the store, and the fact that I purchase my prescription medication there, I was wondering since I was a regular customer ( over 9 years) that I could be pardoned of the ban .

Your parents didn't do anything wrong,so why should they be fined or banned? Of course, it does depend on the store's policy regarding parental responsibility for their minor children and to what lengths the store will pursue theft by a minor.
