Heat pump can't keep home cool
I have a heat pump system that is 20 years old and I have had everything maintenance wise done to it in the last month. I come home from work and its 80 degrees in my home and it's set at 74 degrees. Is it just too old? The heat pump does have a new motor. Help!

you mean the fan motor, not the compressor.

20 years it might be worn out... but they should have caught that last month if it as. Lot depends on how often and how hard its got to work all year..

I just bought the house and it was a foreclosure. First trip put in all new coolant (was completely empty then cleaned the condenser and that open up a hole which was the third service call. Will the home warranty replace the heat pump?

I'm not sure... it all depends on who the warranty was with and what is specifically covers.

If you just got it and it was empty... its possible there might still be a leak. Call them back to check it in case it is. I assumed you had been living in the house most of that time.

One more question... what are the outside temperatures where you at? With the heat wave some places are experiencing... it might be too much for the system to deal with.
