    What to do after a day of binge eating? Does it count as a cheat day?
    Hello,
    I've been dieting for two weeks now and I've lost 6 pounds. I haven't been eating a lot, but I've been feeling healthy and energetic, and I haven't been tempted at all to eat fatty food until yesterday. I don't know what happened, but I completely snapped and ate way more than a normal person could eat in a day. It wasn't even out of hunger, it was like I've gotten crazy or something. The thing is once I break my diet with say one little piece of chocolate, I feel like all is wasted and eat enormous quantities out of shame and guilt.
    I have gained 2 pounds since yesterday. I've been putting a lot of effort in this diet for two weeks and I don't want it to go to waist for one day of binge eating. Specially not now, since I'm going on a short holiday on the beach in 2 days and I'd really like to lose those 2 extra pounds until then. What can I do to un-do this irrational eating?
    I've heard of something called a "cheat day" when you're on a diet, and that eating a lot for a day actually helps to burn more fat since it raises the levels of leptin in your body, a hormone responsible for burning calories and that your body stop producing when you don't eat enough food. The person who said this advised to fast for a day after the cheat day so you can burn more fat once your leptin level is high.
    Would it help if I fasted for a day? Do you know if this "cheat day" theory is true? Anyway, I feel so guilty and ashamed that I don't think I'll be able to eat anything today. And I would really love to lose those 2 pounds before Wednesday.
