Can a P.O. lie and also be involved in a social service case?
I am 2.5 years into a 3 year probation, and just transferred down to another jurisdicton (work reasons). My P.O. reported me to Social Services since she thought my sentence was too light (and said so) and now I'm fighting to keep my kids. My P.O. Then called up the victim and told them some lies (which can be proven as such) just to rile them up to testify at my Social Services trial. I now have to basically retry my whole case, but now with a lower standard (preponderance of evidence rather than reasonable doubt) all based on their false statement. This all just for a quick background, but my question is... can a P.O. call up a victim and lie to them for the purpose of getting them to testify in a civil case? Can and should a P.O. be involved in a social services case?

A PO has no right to do so as part of the probation.

If you still had social services issues related to the case, he may have a right to look into it.

Really not enough info in the question to know what is going on. What type of criminal case?
    Do you have an attorney,

Why two years latter is it related to a social service issue

    Hello s:

That's the wrong question.. Whether they CAN or SHOULD, yours IS. If we told you that she CAN'T, what would you DO about it?? Call her up and tell her that an excon on the internet said she can't?? I don't think that'll work too good.

You need somebody to STOP her. Knowing the law won't help you do that. You need a lawyer.
