    Kitchen sink leaks,moldy cabinet
:)Hi my name is irene57. I am new to this forum, site. I have been reading many questions and answers concerning the same problems. But I feel my situation is a bit different. In my case
The kitchen sink was never sealed and the seal around the faucet has been compromised. This has been going on for about 3 months.{I am the manager of a Apartment complex}the water has badly damaged the bottom and sides with mold and are soft to the touch.what is the best way to fix the cabinet and what materials do you recommend?

Thank you I would be grateful for your feedback... irene57:)

    Hi Irene...

You can remove the damaged wood and spread a 20% bleach solution to areas that can't be reached to be sure that you have killed any remaining mold under the cabinet or under adjacent cabinets.

In terms of replacing the damaged bottom/sides, install plywood and you should be all set.

Be sure to seal the faucet so this doesn't happen again!

    Good luck!
