    Siigning rights over for a chld?
    Im a father who has a sevenyear old son that's been under my care for the last 4 1/2 years. He barely see his mom and no matter how many times I go too friend of the court about the child support they are still making me pay. None of it is owed to the state and I even got insurance in my name for him from the state. What can I do to stop the child support. Its like I'm giving her the money that's needed to take care of him but he stay with me and don't see her.

    I am going to guess you are in Michigan? The legal boards need your location in order to provide the most accurate answers.

    Do you have legal custody of your son or does his mother?

    First ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

    This makes no sense. If you have legal custody then why are you paying support. If you do not have legal custody, why not?

    And who do you want to sign over rights? That's not going to happen, nor is it necessary. All you should need to do is petition the court for a change of custody and support.

    Have you actually petitioned the court for a change in custody? Until this happens, the original custody agreement is in effect, and the support determination is based on who has primary physical custody.
