Hot water shower knob hard to turn
All of a sudden the Hot water knob in my shower is really hard to turn. The cold water turns fine. The hot water use to not be hard like it is but it is getting worse. We recently had a winter freeze and during the freeze the hot water knob turned like it should but now that the weather is back in the 70's it is back to being really hard to turn. I am not even close to be handy or fixing this myself. I'm afraid I will do more damage. What could be causing this? Should I be getting ready for a pipe to bust from the pressure? Help... :)

    Hi Taffi...

No concerns about the pipe bursting here, but it does sound like the hot faucet needs to be disassembled and greased up. A plumber can do this quickly and easily so if you aren't super handy call in a pro. And they should make quick work of it all... ;)

I did a lot of reading before posting this, but still found myself stuck. I have a single lever valve in my shower. It is in a newly built house (less than two years old). No water flow when turn shower knob [ 1 Answers ]

The shower knob turns but no water comes out. And it does not have a "cover" on the handle itself, so there is nothing to pry off to remove a screw. I believe it is a Moen faucet. It has a smooth handle and I do not know how to find "access" to a screw to get it off. Does the whole knob spin...
