    Child support question.
    I have a daughter with an ex girlfriend who has been dating another guy since my daughter was born. A paternity test proved that I was the father so I have been paying child support since my daughter was born. My daughters mom asked if her boyfriend could adopt my daughter. If this were to happen would I still have to pay child support for my daughter?

    Child support (current) would end with the adoption but any arrears accumulated would still be owed.

    Califdad is correct. Your agreement to the adoption would end your relationship with the child including any support responsibility.

    But don't start celebrating yet. It is unlikely that the boyfriend will be allowed to adopt the child. She will have to marry him and stay married for a period before a court will approve such an adoption. This depends on local laws (ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.)

    If your area allows for adoption by a boyfriend, many areas require them to be married first.

    But agree, once the adoption if final, your support will end,

    You will still owe any past support not paid
