Ok this is or was one of our specialities.

With stairs you have the "going" and the "riser"

The going, is the flat part, and this overlaps the riser, usually by about 1inch ( 25mm )
Therefore you need to batten out the riser part, just under the bullnose part, and at the bottom of the riser. So two parallel pieces of wood, glued and screwed into place. This helps you to square off the riser to the tread.

Because it is a staircase you MUST glue the laminate flooring to the actual stairs, we use a high grab construction silicone. Commonly used by window and door manufacturers, with little shrinkage, and hi-grab.

Now cut your pieces of laminate flooring and start at the very top tread of the stair case, and fix the laminate to the vertical risers, then add a proprietary matching laminated stair nosing, www.quickstep.com make these, we glue drill and fix these into place.

Then fit your tread pice of laminate, and glue into position, clipping it under the profile of the nosing strip.

Work your way down the stairs.

Yes it does change things. The person who asked for an answer 3 years ago was looking for an answer and is long gone. This is a help board not a an open, ongoing discussion post. We are here to help folks find an answer to their specific question.

We do not ban people for making a mistake , which is what I felt you did. Folks join this site everyday and do not always read everything there is to know or how the site operates. There are several hundred Experts in different field as well as moderators and owners, we try to correct the error and encourage pepole to keep using the site and get used to it.

Oz! Tone it dow! Nobody wants you banned. Your answer was "bang on" . The problem Bob found with it was that it was posted a few years too late to help the Asker.
It's not your answer he's bringing into question but your timing. We have enough current posts to answer without digging up past ones. Just who, exactly did you think you were helping? Your time would be much better spent answering current questions instead of old dead ones. Stick around and you'll see we aren't such bad guys after all. Regards, Tom
