GMH950703BX Heater Goodman Keeps Turning On and Off
Heater is in horizontal position attic. The heater after a while would continue to run only cold air. We don't have a/c. I would press the button to have the heating element flame up, forget what it's called. It would stay warm and then it would go back to staying on forever blowing cold air. Turning heater off on the thermostat would not turn heater off. I had to turn the circuit breaker to heater. When I turned the circuit breaker back on the heater would turn on right away even thought the thermostat was off and it would continue to blow cold air until I would press that trip reset button to have the flame come back on.

When the heater was running properly the gas flames seemed to be popping like a weird noise. The gas seemed not to continuous flow.

We hired a HVAC person. He thought the popping noise from the gas was a gas problem but he turned the gas shut off valve tested and said the there is no gas probem, it's something else. He came and stated the intake duct was not the right diameter too small and the concentric kit I had are not good for heaters so he charged me to put a new white pipe removed concentric kit that goes to the roof and said this would fix problem. He guaranteed me that putting a new larger intake duct and swapping out the concentric would solve the problem but of course That night the heater did the same thing, it continued to run cold and wold not turn off unless I flipped circuit breaker switch.

He came back a few days later and said, oh the heater we have is too powerful for our 1000 sq foot house and it oh there is a lot of water collecting in the motor or the large round black thing probably motor where black tube comes out. He created more opening and put more little thin black tubes so the heater would drain better and so he said that was the reason the heater was continuing to run with no heat.

Now the heater is working okay but now the heater after running for a while continues to turn off and on for a split second and does this over and over. The heater does not turn off for a while, it stays heating the house and off and on and does this over and over.

Fyi we already switch out the main circuit board with a new one. Any advice?
