    It depends on the age of the child, but as a general rule, eat more fresh whole foods with a lot of fiber, and less refined processed foods.

    Fruit and vegetables are great for getting your bowels moving again. Rhubarb and beetroot are especially good. Avoid things with white flour like bread or pasta, and avoid junk food in general.

    Bran cereals are popular, but eat one portion and make sure you drink lots of water with it. Eating half a box can end up making constipation worse.
