    Charged with possession
    Me and a friend have been charged with possession of £40 of cannabis resin between us, police said we would probably get a fiscal fine but I know it's up to the procurator fiscal, what are we likely to get? it is a first offence for both of us. We are Scottish and offence happened in Scotland.

    Scottish law is entirely different from US/Canadian law in this regard. We couldn't possibly tell you what the judge will put down in court.

    Regretfully, nobody here is familiar with Scottish law... But, it makes no difference in terms of my advice. Even if you were in the US, nobody would be able to tell you what you were facing. There's many, many factors that go into that decision, and we know NONE of them. That's OK. Even IF we knew those factors, NOBODY could tell you what a judge would do...

    So, the only advice I can give you, is no matter WHERE you are, you've got some cops and prosecutors who want to do you dirty for a small amount of pot. You NEED to DEFEND yourselves! The best way to do that, is HIRE a good attorney.
