I have a 3 story townhouse in Delaware. I both of my upstairs bathrooms I have a serious problem with the sinks and the tubs/showers clogging. The water will drain but it drains very slowly. Because of how the sinks are made I haven't tried using a snake to push whatever is blocking the drain or pipes. Is it possible that hair and skin and whatnot is built up in my drain causing the clogging? If so what can be used or done to fix it? (Just to give an example of how bad the draining is, when I take a shower before I'm done the water is up to my ankles.)

I would go to a home depot or some place like that and buy emzines in the plumbing section. Then when you go to bed and no one will use the bathroom pour it down the drain and let it work all night. The next morning run hot water down the drain it should be better than before. Depending on how much soap build up and hair is in the pipes you may have to do it a few times

"Remove the stopper from your sink. Look down in the drain and you will see a rod about 6" down. Hair hangs up and fermemts on that rod. Fish it out,(ugh!) The reason you smell it at the overflow is that when you drain some of the smell is forced back out the overflow. If you have a problem getting the stopper out click on back and I'll walk you through it."

Remove the strainer from the shower drain and run a snake down the drain line. Good luck, Tom
