    Vaccuum
    I bought a new heat pump split phase do I have to vaccuum it down before I charge the freon

    Let me ask you this... if you don't know the answer to this (and it is a very basic one ANY person who knows this field knows) how did you get a license to buy the freon you need to do this job?

    Do you have the equipment, do you know how to use it? Do you know what a proper charge level is?

    This isn't a DIY for someone not familiar with HVAC usnless you want to damage the system.

    Incidentally... you are aware warranties on this stuff are not honored unless the work was performed by qualified service personnel?

    Sorry if that came off as harsh... but there are some things the average homeowner CAN'T do themselves.
