I cannot see the image of the washer hose check valve that you have mentioned.
In reading your answers on extending the length of a washing machine drain hose, you mentioned the use of a check valve. I could not see the image in your answer. I want to extend my hose down from the washing machine and then along the floor for about 15 feet into the drain. Right now it is one hose that loops above the water level and then down to the floor. Where should I place this check valve and what exactly does it look like.

Thanks for you help. This is my first time on the site. I thought I was responding to the right place but I goofed. The first thread was "Washing Machine Discharge Hose Length" and the 2nd question was "Washing Machine Drain Hose" both were answered by "speedball1" but I now see that they were under plumbing. Speedball mentioned an image of a "check valve" in his 2nd answer which is what I was enquiring about.
Thanks for your help This is a great site

I live in a condo. No place to attach a hose outside. I have a closet on my back patio with the hot water heater. I would like to put a valve where I can attach a hose on the top of the hot water tank. If I could have both hot and cold water that I could mix that would be even better. Thanks,...

Washer Drain Hose Check Valve [ 1 Answers ]

Hello, I just purchased a new washer, and am attempting to connect it to the existing drain. The existing drain consists of a 1" pvc pipe up from drain in basement. Cannot put a proper stand-pipe because part of it travels outside and back into the basement below floor. A conventional trap or...

Faucet sometimes refuses to flow: is this because of diverter valve, or sprayer hose? [ 1 Answers ]

Sometimes my kitchen sink faucet won't work. Usually this happens when I turn the water on quickly instead of gently - there may be a moment of water, but then it's cut off immediately, and then nothing I do with the faucet handle will make it start again. If I let it sit for a few minutes, the...

Supply hose from kitchen faucet won't reach valve. [ 6 Answers ]

I just installed a new faucet in the kitchen. It came with 2 12" supply hoses already assembled. Unfortunately, my water supply valve's are 2" off the ground. I bough 2 additional 12" hoses and a nipple (3'8 to 1'2) to attempt to extend them. I've tightened the nipple as much as...

Washer hose flow valve [ 3 Answers ]

I just bought new washing machine connectors at a national home improvement store. They are billed as flood preventative because they have a diaphram valve at the connector which shuts down water flow when flow exceeds 2.5 gpm. However, I can only turn on the water valves less than a quarter of a...
