Hampton Bay Thermostatic Ceiling Fan and Light Remote Control 838-956
I recently bought and installed a Ceiling Fan with Lights as well as purchased the Hampton Bay Thermostatic Ceiling Fan and Light Remote Control 838-956. I used for the first time few days ago when I had visitors. To my surprise, it was spinning at 1 speed - Low/Slow.

According to the leaflet, the fan has Low, Medium, High and Off. I can't remember if I saw a High/Fast speed when it was initially installed. Nonetheless, I took the remote back and the Mgr exchanged it. I tried it again but the speed when set to High remains at Low/Slow movement.

Is there something within the fan that needs adjusting? If so, could you please share with me. I would truly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Does the fan have pullchains? Make sure they are set to high.

    Dear CeilingFanRepair:

First, let me say thank you for taking the time to assist in solving my problem.

The Fan has a pullchain. However, when I pull the fan chain nothing happens; the fan only seems to work via the Remote at that low speed.

Is there anyway for me to tell if the pullchain is set to high or how do I go about setting it to high.

    Once again, thank you.

Set the remote to high. Then, cycle through the pullchain, and find the fastest speed. Report back.

    CeilingFanRepair:

I followed your instructions and BINGO! The fan finally operated at HIGH Speed.

I cannot say thank you enough for helping me to solve what I believe was a dreadful situation.

God Bless you today and ALWAYS.
