No hot water to washing machine
I just bought a new house and consequently a new washing machine. When they installed the machine, they told me that I am not getting hot water to the machine. I went to the crawl space and looked at the pipes in the crawl space and there is no valve shut off, etc. Basically (in the crawlspace) there are 3 pipes that come to a connector that is in the shape of a "T". The bottom of the 'T' goes to the h20 heater and is warm. The right side of the top goes to the kitchen sink and is hot (and the hot water works fine in the kitchen). The left side of the top goes to the washing machine and is cold. It has probably never had water run through it as they just installed this plumbing when they flipped the house. I took a picture and attached it - it is the valve that is in the closet for the washer/dryer. I have played with the open/close lever and have had no success. Any ideas/thoughts?

It almost seems like the pipe is obstructed but the odds of that seem really really low! No shutoffs that I can see, everything is open, just no water! Frustrating!

Have you tried it with the hot water hose disconnected from the machine, could be hot water solenoid if hot flows from hose when disconnected.
That looks just like my valve, if mine wasn't passing water and all valves are open, I would remove the screw and see if anything could stop the flow.
You may want to turn off water and open a faucet to release pressure first.
If you have never seen hot water from this valve, maybe hot was never plumbed in? I would take one of the washer hoses and connect to the hot and the cold water valve, then open valve and listen for flow, TURN OFF quick if you hear flow and then check around your house for water and try to locate.
Check around the water heater for valves.

Those are screwdriver stops on the washer valve. Have you shut the water off at the house stop and opened up the hot side to see if it was bloicked? Let me know. REgards, Tom

    Hi all...

Tom, those aren't screwdriver stops... even though they look like them... ;)

That is a WATTS washing machine valve. Binkly will need to shut off the water at the water heater (shut cold water supply shutoff) and then unscrew those screwheads and remove the valve itself. Once the valve is off I'd advise him to turn the cold water supply back on to flush the line. He may even need to replace the valve entirely. He can purchase a WATTS valve and simply swap out the body of the valve and use the new washers and that should restore the water. Double check the hose for a blockage while you have the hose disconnected, of course.

No hot water in the washing machine [ 1 Answers ]

 The hot and cold lines leading into the washer are OK, but for some reason the washer only runs cold. Not warm or hot? What could be the problem?
