Disconnect both ends of the hot water supply hose. On the end of the hose where it connects to the water supply, look & see if there is a wire strainer. The strainer may be clogged. Also look at the hot water inlet to the washing machine. There may be another strainer that needs cleaning.

If that's not the problem, it's probably the solenoid water valve that's corroded & not opening properly.

    Cheers, Tom

Did you find out an answer to your question. I have the same problem with my washing machine Whirlpool. I can wash with cold water but when I turn the knob to hot water the machine stops working. Thanks.

We have had a rash of complaints about hot water lines freezing up the last couple of days. Are you guys sure you're not froze up? Regards, Tom
