I have a Fuse Box with two 30 Amp 250 Volts Time Delay Fuses. The Breaker Box, that feeds the Fuse Box, has two connected 50 Amp breakers (100 Amp total) for the incoming power. These feed one 20 Amp breaker for my flood light, one 20 Amp breaker for my two GFCI outlets, two connected 20 Amp breakers (40 Amp total) for my two irrigation pumps.

There is 240 Volts entering the fuse box and 240 Volts exiting. This feeds (2) pumps, one horsepower pump and a two horsepower pump. The one horsepower pump turns on fine. When I try turning on the two hp pump, the two 20 Amp breakers triped. Trouble shooting: There was 240V exiting the Fuse Box and 240V entering the two hp pump. Why doesn't my two hp pump turn on? Why do the breakers trip? Is there to many amps going through the circuit?

I thought the pump was the problem, but the pump repair shop ran it and it was fine. What could be the problem??

Does the pump have an amperage rating?

Have you tried another high demand system in its place to see if it does the same?

Sometimes breakers just wear out, and need to be replaced. Symptoms include: Randomly Shutting Off, Shutting off under low load, and shutting off when peak load only lasts a few milliseconds.
