    Emigration from US
I am a US citizen considering moving permanently from the US to New Zealand. I understand that even if I choose to renounce my citizenship, the US govt will claim tax liability on my income. Could someone clarify for me?

NZ recognize dual citizenship, so you can choose whether you want to maintain both. As long as you are American citizen, you must file tax return every year even you don't have sufficient income or stay in US less than 6 months.
