    Dryer Problem
My dryer just stopped working today. The start button did make a funny noise yesterday when I went to use it and then today it won't work at all. It's like the motor just keeps running when you push the button in.

    Any help is great!

    Thanks,

You mean you have to hold the button to make it work?

If that's the case, Id say your centtrifucal switch that provides your holding circuit has failed.

No, it will not work if you hold the btn down, it will make a noise for like 2 minutes and then not make the noise at all unless you let it sit for about 5 minutes and do it again.

Well, as you said the start button made a strange noise, that would be the first thing I would check out.

You could always test voltage on the switch. The contacts on the switch may have fried.

If you remove it and it looks damaged, replace it. Even if its not the cause of your problem a switch that looks distressed can be unsafe.
