Have PCOS and now have possible signs of early pregnancy
I am 28 years old and have PCOS. I have been taking Metformin 500mg twice a day for about four months now. My cycles are regular because of it now. My fiancé and I have been trying to conceive, so this last time we had intercourse on both days the test showed I had ovulated. My period came three days early and only lasted for three days, when usually it last 7. I am now having signs of early pregnancy but when I took three test they showed negative. Any idea what's happening?I don't have insurance so can't afford to go to doctor every time.

You can always wait another week or so to test, or go to your local women's clinic I don't know about where you live, but around my town they will do a blood hcg level for just a donation at the christian women's clinic. Your periods are always rgular now with the metformin? I too have pcos and was taking the same medication and every once and awhile I would have an odd cycle you might want to wait and see how next months cycle goes if you test negitave again. Good luck on the baby making! It took me 3 years and a few different meds to be able to conceive, but it happened! So don't give up!

I, too, am trying to conceive, and have every symptom of PCOS--but test negative for it.

I'm on 2000 mgs of metformin daily.

You had a period, and a negative pregnancy test. That doesn't necessarily mean that you are NOT pregnant--but the odds are that you are not.

Even on metformin, with having regularly TIMED periods--the start date, I mean--I still have variances in how long it lasts and how heavy the flow is.

Just out of curiosity--if you don't have insurance for YOURSELF, how the HECK are you going to afford a pregnancy and baby with no insurance? Maybe you should hold off on trying to conceive until you have insurance again?
