    Underage marriage.
Lets see, well I'm 15 years old and I have a boyfriend who's 17 about to be 18. We want to get married, so I was wondering if we can still get married even though he's 18?

He can get married when he's 18 in most states, you can't because you're still a child.

Are you pregnant? Is that why you want to get married?

    Is the child his?

What state do you live in?

Yes I live with my parents, and they're okay with me marrying him as long as he gets a job first. He's not the father but he's been with me since I was pregnant..

    I live in Utah.

So you're going from the frying pan into the fire.

Why the rush to get married? Why not wait until you're older?

How old is the father of your child? Did he go to jail for statutory rape?

I simply cannot understand how any parents would be okay with their 15 year old daughter getting married.

I have to agree, what's the rush? You say he's been with you since you became pregnant, how long as that been?

And I also would like to know what the story is about the father. Was he prosecuted for statutory rape, or is he playing support?

I want to wiat until I know he can support me and the baby, but he's trying to rush everything. I get what your saying though, I'm not so sure I'm ready for the whole marriage thing yet anyway..

Yes he did what? Go to jail?

The same thing could happen with your new boyfriend if you have sex.

If he loves you then he can wait until your older to get married. Getting married at 15 is statistically not a great idea. The odds are against this lasting. Why set yourself up for failure if you can just wait 5 to 10 years, when you're an adult and ready to support yourself.

I have a feeling that this really isn't what you want, but you're trying to please him.

I'm with Alty, the father did what? Pay support, go to jail, what?

If the father went to jail, I suspect that may be why your boyfriend is in a rush, since he knows it will be illegal for you to have sex unless you are married.

But you are right, you need to wait. Marriage can be a strain, especially at your age and with a baby.
