New floor furnace with pilot on won't kick on
Had a new floor furnace installed. Pilot light lit fine. Tried to to turn the burner on with the thermostat but burned up the thermostat. Tried touching the bare thermostat wires together and could hear the gas valve clicking but would not open to let gas to the burner. The thermostat is a 24millivolt that goes through a transformer.

By all means call the company back that installed your furnace. There is a warranty involved and they should fix it for you for free.
