    Ceiling fan wiring
    I have a hamilton fan the problem is that it have a blue black green and white wire and they want to control from the wall but up in the ceiling it only have black and white wire I know to hook up black to black and white to white and green to green but what about blue wire because it is a hot wire to for the light so where to hook it thanks

    Here it the problem, your fan has two fixtures, fan and light, your wall has only one single supply. If the fan has pull chains we can still do this. Wite to white and both black and blue go to black from the ceiling. The green is your ground and can go to the ceiling box if there is no green or bare wire coming into the box. Without testing I can't tell if you will actually have a ground since I know nothing about the ceiling box.

    Just hook the blue to the blacks.
