    deck building
I want to build a deck with storage underneath. I was going to use the basic decking ( 5/4 x 6 ), but was wondering about rain or snow seeping between the gaps of the decking. Then I thought of using pressure treated plywood, but don't really care for the looks of the plywood. Any suggestions about decking material? I will be storing lawn and garden equipment under the deck and don't want it getting wet and rusting. Thank you for your help.

under the deck boards use a plywood "ceiling" covered with an EPDM membrane. You will need to taper the "ceiling" left to right or right to left for drainage. This can be easily done using 2x4 attached to the 2x8 cross members. There are different colors of membrane to match redwood, gray for weathered wood or white for whitewashed decks. Hope this helps,
