    Stepdaughter adoption
    I would like to adopt both of my wife's children from before we met. Neither father is involved. They both were born in Va.

    The both of you will need to get a lawyer and get the biological fathers to relinquish their rights in order to adopt.

    Good for you. But, you do need to get the fathers to relinquish their rights. As noted, an adoption petititon is best prepared by an attorney. The attorney will also prepare the relinquishment of rights.
