    Theft over $5000
    Okay so I about a yr ago stole my step moms engagement ring (did not know at the time)
    N 4got about it for about 6 mnths then my bro finds it I tell him to keep it or give it back to them because I figured it was fake well 6 mnths later he gives it to my dad now if I don't pay $1000 for her other ring that I did not touch they are going to charge me with theft over $5000.. Basically am I able to get out of this if I deny it and fight it or is it part blackmail just commments advise what do I do...

    Yeah, I hate it when I steal from somebody, and then they steal MORE BACK from me...

    If you want your father to go to the cops over this, then let let him. If you want to pay instead, then pay.

    What?? You DID steal stuff, didn't you?? You DIDN'T give it back, did you??
