Post-probation criminal record check
If you served your probation and got your record and fingerprinting removed, how "clean" are you? Can you put NO when job application asks for criminal records? Will it show up for ANYTHING? As in would you still have a record with the police?
And also how would it show up during your probation?
Thanks

First where are you,
In the US, your fingerprints is always on file with the FBI, and your criminal record is always viewable by police and for national security background checks, even after they are explunged, ( that only takes it out of the public view)
Also there are dozens, actually 10's of dozens of computer background check companies, that often collect data before it is explunged from court records, their records are not subject to the being explunged since they are private records. So often these companies will show arrests even if not convicted and things that are explunged.
So it all depends on how detailed background they do.

Oh in ontario... and so technically what does serving probation do? Since its going to show up on record anyway, is it just that it won't show up for MOST record checks? Assuming that's the case could you say no when asked if you have a criminal record?

I believe in Ontario it is actually deleted ( although fingerprints for indentification purpose only ( does not connect to any criminal record) are all erased from the official records.
** there has to be some record I have always argued that shows you went to court and appeard, court scheules and the record it happened and was ordered. ** silly issue, if there was no record you were arrested and served punishment what would stop the police from arresting you again?
But my understanding from other canada experts is they clear thiers more

Shoplifting- criminal record check
[ 2 Answers ]
I have recently been caught shoplifting. I am waiting for my court date in February. I have to get a criminal record check done for work and I am wondering if it will show up on my check. This is my first offence.
