Norm, then not much I can do to help without some information.

    Even a photo would help.

Did this switch come in a package or carton?

If I wanted to purchase one, how would I identify it without a manufacturer and part number? Where did you get your switch from?

With 6 terminals, sounds like a double 3 way,or 3 way over 3 way combination. Is there ON and OFF stamped on the switch handles?

If you have a continuity tester, you can ring out the terminals to see how the switch works.
