92 Voyager 3.0, crankshaft damper bolt removal
I am changing the timing belt on a 92 Plymouth Voyager, 3.0 liter Mitsubishi engine.
I have been unable to break loose the 22mm bolt attaching the damper to the crankshaft. Have tried breaker bar and 4 lb. hammer, breaker bar and 2 ton hydraulic jack, air impact wrench (230 ft. lbs. torque only), staring at it while scratching.
I am open to suggestions.
Have tried turning both directions and KR Oil soak as well.

If you can secure the engine from rotating, try putting a cheater pipe on the breaker bar for extra leverage. I use an old handle from a retired floor jack. Excersize caution though.
BE ADVISED: Make certain the socket is fully engaged with the bolt to prevent slipping/stripping the crank bolt.
I'm not being sarcastic, but if that doesn't work and the van still runs, I'd trade quickly.

Have used a cheater bar, no joy. The timing belt is broken, so little van runs no more.
I am searching the neighborhood for a beefier impact wrench. If that doesn't work, I'll flip a coin between a rebuild and a part out, I reckon.
It's been a good van, 30 mpg on the open road, plenty of pep, only 160K miles.

OK, I'll give a suggestion. You can attach a socket and a breaker bar to the nut and kick the starter briefly.

Am considering that. Have seen this done before and witnessed much injury and destruction result. Many precautions to take.

Use a floor jack on the business end of the cheater bar and tell everyone to stand back.

Remember to use a 6 point socket, preferably impact.
