    Service grounding
    I have a 200 amp 2 family meter pan, with 2 100amp panels located in the basement right behind the meters. If I run a #6 stranded ground wire to 2 ground rods and hook it up in one of the panels and install a jumper to the other panel, and run a #4 to the water main and hook it up at the meter pan, is this correct? The two 100 amp panels are being powered by 100 amp SEU. They do not have an insulated neutral, I do not think that they need one. Is that right? Thank you.

    Do not do as you proposed at the panelboards, no need to.

    Assuming you have a 2 gang ( 2 position) meter pack, 200 amp rated with two 100 amp sockets, you should find a small lug along with the two large lugs for the neutrals. This lug is specifically for the #6 grounding electrode conductor.

    SEU cable is fine from the meter to the panelboard, since the Main Breakers are in the panels.
