    Repair coupling and rigester coupling
    What is the deffernce between the repair coupling and the rigester coupling in PVC fittings?
    I knew the deffrence in shape and that the first is used in small places wher you add or fix an exsisting line, and the last one is always used in first fixing and installatin.

    But can I always use the repair coupling instead of the rigester coupling? Are there any prohiptions?

    If any standard recomindation is available, it will be great

    Thanks

    I've heard of slip couplings being called "repair couplings". Be willing to bet that a "rigester coupling " is a "regular" i.e. stop coupling.

    Thanks Harold, I believe you took the mystery out of it so now I'll delete my first post and answer his question, which was;
    what is the deffernce between the repair coupling and the rigester coupling in PVC fittings?
    As Harold stated, repair or slip couplings are couplings without a ridge in the center for a stop while regular couplings have the center ridge. Slip or repair couplings are not manufactured in PVC because all female PVC fittings have a slight taper to them, (that's why they sometimes are hard to pull apart when you dry fit them) so a PVC slip coupling isn't possible. Hope this answered your question. Regards, Tom
